  Remember when we lodged in private homes at conventions?

  i bring this up now because i haven't seen any postings about that practice because i got out in 1977. when did wt quit soliciting private homes for accomodations?

  or have they stopped?.

  i hated it, but it was the only way we could afford to go.

  That brings back memories from the past.Back in the 60`s I was involved in canvassing householders if they had rooms to let out .

  And we actually took advantage of that arrangement ourselves at a convention in the suburb Elizabeth in Adelaide South Australia sometime in the 60`s.

  The wife and I and young son were billeted in a child minding centre that had miniature toilets that was a source of amusement.

  The wife`s younger teenage sister who we took along with us was billeted in with another JW family and she said the teenage son of this sister tried to "come on" to her .

  Crazy ass excuses

  so it was brought up lately that my lack of faith is partially do to stories in the bible like the one in samuel where god kills david’s first born son.

  the excuse i heard today wasn’t that god killed david’s son no he just didn’t bless him so then he died.

  Isn`t the God of the Bible whatever name one might call him solely responsible for millions if not billions of deaths of humans , not to mention the animals he wanted sacrificed for him , according to the Bible ?

  Whereas I think the Bible attributes about 10 humans who died because of Satan the devil.

  can anyone recommend good books worth reading like steven hassans combating the cult mind?.

  just read it, it gripped me totally n could not put it down.

  why is it that born-in jw children/teens who are not unbaptized publishers allowed to participate in the preaching work, but new people can't?

  My experience before ex JW and post ex JW is that the majority of the teenagers,my sons included were leading double lives that us parents were none the wiser about ,and I`m going back to the 1975`s - 85`s or thereabouts.

  So i`m bloody sure it is much more prevalent today than it was back then.

  Bound vol question

  did the wt reprint bound vol.?

  if so how long after the first printing did they reprint?

  also how do you tell an original from reprint?

  So, am I correct in saying that reprints are in fact revised versions of what was printed previously ?

  In other words what they said in the first place was not correct and they have had to modify / change what they first printed ?

  Jehovah`s Witnesses / Governing Body / WTB&TS are no strangers to making revisions , changing facts.

  They have done so with their early history as "International Bible Students Association" and what they believed and published then compared to what the Jehovah`s Witness organization of today says they believed back then.

  Quite a big difference.

  That should send up red flags to everybody that they are incapable of telling the truth.
