  US & UK difference

  so i was wondering, is there a difference between the baseline attitudes of jw's in the us and the uk?

  i hear tonnes and tonnes of experiences regarding elders chasing people up and hounding them.

  and people having to devote their lives to fading out.

  UK driving on the correct side of the road I agree. Fun fact (not sure on how true this is, but it makes sense to me)... I heard that we drive on the left side of the road due to the tradition of jousting, which meant that the right arm (typically the strongest) was in line with their opposers.

  With regards JCs, I've never had one thankfully! One of my best mates was in one a while back... When he went outside after it had finished and he'd been Dfd, he looked at the nearest elder and went:

  "Wow... Would you look at the stars out tonight! It really makes me think of stuff you know?"....

  And the elder was saying "what what??"

  My mate would say "just really awe inspiring things!"

  "Like what?"

  "Well... To me... It just looks like a giant pair of tits!"

  Needless to say it didn't go down too well apparently!

  So I was wondering, is there a difference between the baseline attitudes of JW's in the US and the UK? I hear tonnes and tonnes of experiences regarding elders chasing people up and hounding them. And people having to devote their lives to fading out. I know a lot of these people appear to be from the US.

  I'm from the UK. And I've managed to (pretty much) quit cold turkey... Last meeting I went to was October last year (Barr the memorial and 1 hour at the convention last week). And I haven't had anyone hounding me or calling to see if "you're ok?". I left home (after being on and off with the meetings) and asked a good friend elder to switch my cards over to another Cong. I've not attended this Cong at all since.

  I wonder if this is a difference between the US and the UK? Or if I just got lucky?

  Wow, all mostly centre leaning! Phizzy, I agree that the Tories have buggered up this country well and truly!! I am actually quite the fan of Boris Johnson, I think he is a much better choice than Jeremy Hunt!

  Withholding My Information!

  over the past few days i have twice visited screwfix - a uk nationwide company which sells tools & fixings.. on my first visit, i informed the store assistant of the item i required.

  she immediately said, "post-code?".

  i informed her that it was a cash sale and there was no need to give information.

  What we have to remember is that JW's think that human life started 6,000 years ago. The estimates for 100b are for the evolutionary theory that mankind started 50,000 years ago. May be an explanation there, but I second the point that the WT pull that figure out of their arse along with the overlapping generations and the rest of it! One long string of shit
