for me it would be, my favorite martian, and wild wild west..
I loved watching Wild, Wild West with my grandmother when I was little. I think she had a crush on Robert Conrad, whereas I had a crush on Artemis Gorden because he was so smart.
I loved The Twilight Zone, but could only watch it if I was with my anointed uncle. Go figure.
I also had a crush on Emma Peele from The Avengers. I wanted a black catsuit like hers. Still do!
Dark Shadows was another no-no. But I loved it. The old one. The new one in the 80's was ok, but not as good as the "old" one.
And how about the Ed Sullivan Show? It's where I first saw The Beatles. Fell in love with Jim Morrison and his leather pants. Remember when he lied and said he wouldn't say "Higher" and said it anyway?
Clinty in Rawhide????
Rat Patrol. I wasn't supposed to watch war shows, but I did like this one. Victor Newman was awesome.
Voage to the Bottom of the Sea. I had such a crush on David Hedison. And he was the only actor to portray 007's friend Felix Liter twice, in Live And Let Die (1973) and Licence to Kill (1989)
How about The Fugitive? My grandmother loved that one.
My all time favorite even today is Star Trek. A show way ahead of its time. But a good runner up is The Man From U.N.C.L.E. I absolutely loved David McCallum. And Patrick McGoohan as Secret Agent? That show was a trip. Weird photography. Torture. Mind games. As you can tell, I liked the more serious shows.
The absolute worst show I was forced to watch as a little girl sitting on my grandfather's lap was The Lawrence Welk Show. God, how I hated that show.....a one an' a two....bubbles all over the damned place. The freakin' Lennon Sisters, who I used to call the "Lemon" sisters.

Has anyone pried the gun from his hand yet?

I'd rather know where someone stands than to be fooled into thinking someone believed or felt a certain way when in fact they never did. Best to be honest and face the consequences.
i know, a far cry from the sexiest actor/actress thread, but hell; let's be a kid for a weekend for a bit!
it brings back fun, good memories !
so, when you were a kid, did you lean toward disney or warner brothers ?
My two favorites......
WHY???? Because they never TALKED!!!! When I turn on cartoons now for my grands, all I hear is SpongeBob screaming, constant ear-shattering noise, and it seems as if the volume goes up with every commercial even if you don't turn it up yourself.
Oh...for a nice, quiet cartoon where all you hear is "beep-beep" as a huge anvil drops back on Wiley's head.
just thought i'd carry the funeral thread a little further.
what do you want them to carve on your tombstone?
i'm inclined toward the smartass epitaph, something like "what are you looking at?
sitting here listening to the o'jays with my morning coffee, remenescing about my childhood and teen years and all the great african american friends i had.
so..from a white american male, i just want to shout out my love to any and all my black brothers and sisters.
life is too short for the prejudice and hatred.. i love you guys.. bp .
Thanks for this thread, BlackPearl! It's eerie. He could be speaking about America today. His words should be played today in every classroom, in every school in America. If we don't remember the past, we are sure to repeat it. |

I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down...........
