  In a similar vein, holding a straight path doing one's due diligence would have meant reading Judy Micovits' papers in the order in which she published them (Including the 2009 paper, that was first amended, then retracted and finally falsified entirely) and not blindly accepting the gibbering insanity in the Plandemic video.

  In would have meant not blindly believing the idea that hospitals were empty and Covid 19 was therefore a hoax because a bozo in Germany showed video of a hospital wing undergoing renovation as proof.

  And yet it would not be very hard at all to go back and find some of the same people making outrageous claims about mRNA vaccines who embraced both of those ideas right here on this forum.

  Serious Question: Are You Hearing About Anyone With The Flu Anymore or A Cold?

  for years everyone was told they had to get the flu shot.

  because the flu was dangerous and it could even kill you.

  now, hardly anyone talks about the flu or having a cold.

  What Do You Think About Home Schooling?

  i knew a few witnesses who were very proud of the fact that their kids were homeschooled.

  years ago, i would raise my eyebrows wondering why these families couldn’t simply integrate their kids with other “worldly” kids.

  at this point in time, with so many theories being pushed on kids and their parents, i can see why parents, if they are qualified, could instruct their kids themselves.

  I think it's complicated.

  Children tend to build up a wall where their parents are concerned. These are the people who have wheedled, cajoled, lectured, nagged, and yelled (As the case may be) since we could walk and it is human nature to start to tune that out after awhile.

  The people I know who were home schooled are not stupid and neither were there parents. The parents just couldn't get through to them apparently.
  

  A virtual stranger starts off with a clean slate and that can be an advantage. I had good teachers and bad teachers just like my children did, but the good ones we remember for the rest of our lives. It was a kindly Mormon biology teacher who explained to me what a load of shit the JW reasoning on transfusion was and that was huge

  Twenty years ago, I was pretty neutral about it.

  Today after seeing the results, I think more than a few of these children were done a disservice by their parents.

  We're talking adults who don't know who Shakespeare was, can't find Australia on a map, have zero knowledge of applied mathematics, don't have a good command of their own native tongue, etc, etc, etc....

  Unfortunately, I've stated almost as much as I can without violating a trust. (If you recall, it was during the early 80's that law enforcement became an unacceptable profession for JW's and it precipitated a wave of consternation in my neck of the woods.)

  Here is an excerpt from one letter (Writer is deceased) and the reply:
  

  Question: "In what way could Jesus' disciples be considered the "Lawless ones" of Isaiah 53:12? Is this an adjustment to the understanding found on page 86 of the book Man's Salvation out of World Distress at Hand!"

  Answer: "No, the brief statement on page 19 should not be viewed as a new understanding"

  It's about as satisfying as a photograph taken from 12,000 feet, but that's all I have.
  

  As always, there are a number of ways to interpret Jesus' more cryptic comments. The 1984 reference Bible linked the prophetic reference to John 18:12, which was an allusion to the manner of his death (i.e. As a condemned criminal) The idea that Jesus was the leader of a band of brigands (Or the perception thereof) is a little off the beaten path, especially for a doctrinally conservative group like the JW's.
  

  TBH, I'm more curious (confused) than ever now. The JW's did away with the reference in 1984 and brought it back in 2013. I wonder what they would say if they were asked point blank today (?)

  Joseph Malik actually participated here and on Channel C way back when. (He passed away about eleven years ago)
  

  He was an interesting person. Like you have guessed, he believed his studies had given him a superior insight into the Bible, but he was also a very clear thinker in other respects.

  His untangling of the convoluted Passover timeline of JW's which results in them celebrating Memorial on the evening of the 13th/14th instead of the evening of the 14th/15th is pretty accurate IMHO
