I'm still curious why someone would believe a toilet paper level tabloid would be a credible source.
No offense intended, Anna Marina. You seem like a wonderful person. Just perhaps not familiar with Bild-Zeitung

dr. leanna wen is currently spreading the fallacy that unvaccinated persons should have vaccines mandated because they are like drunk drivers… they have the right to be drunk at home she says, but wanting to be part of society at large without being vaccinated is like driving drunk and putting others at risk.
besides ignoring the science proving that persons who have had sars cov-2 have natural immunity that equals or exceeds anything that could be imparted from the mrna shot, without the side effects or need for boosters, ( sorry big pharma, you’ll be losing $$$ ) this illustration just smacks of illogical reasoning.
it reminds me of the borg comparing getting baptized to getting your driver’s license.
Here is the full quote, in context from the October 7, 2020 Vice Presidential Debate at the University of Utah:
Susan Page: If the Trump administration approves a vaccine before or after the election, should Americans take it and would you take it?
Kamala Harris: If the public health professionals, if Dr. Fauci, if the doctors tell us that we should take it, I’ll be the first in line to take it. Absolutely. But if Donald Trump tells us we should take it, I’m not taking it.”
TBH, I don't think there's much to take away from this exchange. It was a stupid question and stupid answer

Freedom of speech indeed implies the freedom to yell fire in a crowded theater. The notion that you can’t was overturned by the Supreme Court a century ago.
Curious, because this actually has a direct tie-in to JW's
"Shouting fire in a crowded theater" is a paraphrase of the unanimous opinion in a 1919 SCOTUS case which held that opposition to military conscription was not protected speech under the 1st Amendment
(Rutherford & Co got in trouble over essentially the same thing)
That was partially overturned 50 years later in 1969. (Brandenburg v. Ohio) which I think might be what you're referencing (???)

this has been widely reported by left and right wing news papers.
just food for thought..
The smallpox vaccines (APSV, Imvanex, and the more recent ACAM2000) were not injections. They were administered with a specialized instrument that left multiple pin-pricks in a dime-sized pattern, usually on the skin of your upper arm. The recipient develops a single pustule, that usually leaves a scar.
Back in the day, people were terrified of this procedure, but it was a requirement to attend public school.

Therein lies the rub….
What additional conclusions will be justified by those who buy into the false analogy?
An analogy doesn't justify any conclusion, because even a good analogy will break down if you push it too far.
Humans aren't very logical creatures though.
It's hard for me to tell in this case if Ms. Wen's intentions were good or if she meant to suggest that there should be civil and/or criminal penalties for the unvaccinated, just like there are for drunk drivers.

An analogy is a rhetorical device, not an exercise in logic.
For example, saying that "Electricity flows through wires like water flows through a pipe" is not correct in the technical sense, but it is not a logical fallacy. It's just a bad analogy.
A logical fallacy occurs only if that comparison is used as proof of a conclusion as in, ".. therefore you shouldn't abruptly shut off an electrical connection because you could burst the wire."
This is a logical fallacy. It's called Faulty Analogy and/or Reasoning through analogy.

I don't think it's a very good analogy, but it doesn't become a logical fallacy in the formal sense until someone uses the alleged similarity to justify additional conclusions.
hi all.. i'm 42 years old.

jehovah’s witnesses claim to be the only religion that has the truth.
they claim to be representing god himself.
can you think of anything that you could use to prove that the witnesses do not have the truth?.
Diogenesister
JW writers and memorial speakers have been repeating the misconception that day and night are of equal length on the spring and autumnal equinox for at least 80 years.
It wouldn't be worth mentioning except for the JW conviction that they are in possession of superior knowledge on a great many things.
