I've read that quote a time or two and thought (perhaps mistakenly) that I did a reasonably accurate job of representing it above.
It is directly contradicted by Numbers 33:3.
if jesus memorial meal is meant to follow on from the jewish passover celebration, would someone explain to me why the jehovah's witness community are holding their "lord's evening meal" on tuesday 4th april; when the jewish community are not holding their 2023 passover until the 5th april 2023?
doesn't this mean that the jehovahs have got their date wrong?.

JW's share the fundy belief that Christ as the "Lamb" had to die on the exact same day as the Passover lamb. Everything therefore must be crammed into a 24 hour period
On the 13th of Nisan, (By JW reckoning) JW's hurry home from work, get ready, and go to their Memorial. Although the preliminaries can begin before sundown, the actual passing of the emblems always occurs after sundown, when the 14th has technically just begun. The next day, when they wake up, it will still be the 14th and the 15th will not begin until the next sundown, nearly 24 hours after the JW celebration.
Numbers 33:3 very plainly states that the next daylight period after Passover was the 15th, not the 14th, so the JW's are a full 24 hours early in their observance.
the short answer is no, it is not.. i have heard one or two proposals that it is, including from langfocus, a usually excellent youtube channel.. but no, english is actually a germanic language which has borrowed many words from other languages.
here are several reasons why english is germanic at its core .... 1. verb forms.
i play - ich spiele.
I agree.
I've also wondered at times if some of the quirks of American English are due to the German influence. (Substantial amount of German settlers in North America.)
For example, "Dumb" as a synonym for stupid. It's a lot like the German word, dumm, which does mean stupid.
Or the American usage of the word "already" as an intensifier. It functions exactly the same way the German word, "schon" does. --Do it already! / Mach es schon!
Or cardinal numbers as another example. American English omits the word, "and" for numbers higher than 100, just like German. --One hundred five / einhundertfünf
my name is ari matthew davies.
i am a life experience consultant counselor i have a doctor's degree theology psychology clinical addictions and computer sciences.
i am also baptized as well as jehovah's witnesses.. if you have a question i've got a lot of experience and a lot of real life training.
I have a doctor's degree theology psychology clinical addictions and computer sciences.
By my count (And if I'm understanding the sentence) that is four separate doctorates in four disparate fields (?)
I wonder how many years that took....
what a load of crap this stupid belief was.
i'll give you a couple of examples.
i was the sign language interpreter for our congregation and there was about 15-20 deaf who regularly showed up.
It's not unheard of for a lady to experience something very similar at or near the cusp of menopause. My wife did.
since health insurance doesn’t pay for prp injections, i am skeptical about it’s efficacy.
obviously if this treatment was necessary, it would be paid by health insurance.
don’t know much about prp except that the physician extracts blood from the patient and concentrates the platelets from the blood then injects the medicine into the affected site in the body to speed up healing of a torn ligament for example.. i saw an interesting statement in wt online site saying or implying that sub major components might be a personal decision and also using one’s own blood may be a personal decision, if i understood the information correctly..
The problem here is whole platelets removed from the body
In JW terminology, platelets are a primary component, not a fraction.
For JW patients, the acceptability of all forms of autologous transfusion is decided using recirculation as the litmus test.
A blood patch is acceptable only if the syringe remains connected to the vein throughout the procedure. Blood salvage and isovolemic hemodilution became acceptable to the JW community only after these procedures were modified to recirculate a small amount of the patient's blood.
I'd guess that PRP therapy acceptable to JWs, would probably require the collection apparatus to remain connected to the patient throughout the procedure (?)

I'm not sure if bothered is the right word for me, (Parents started studying when I was an adolescent) but references to external sources which the bible writer clearly viewed as authoritative did seem to fit into picture presented by JW's
These would include The Annals of King David, The Book of Jasher, The Book of Enoch, etc.
re-posting this for reference.. #1 protein functional redundancy comparing the sequences of amino acids in ubiquitous proteins confirms the relationship between all living things..
#2 dna functional redundancy comparison of the dna that codes for the amino acids of ubiquitous proteins predicts the tree of life with an astonishing degree of accuracy..

the jws i know (which admittedly are more liberal than most) are suddenly into prepping to one degree or another.
some have simply assembled "go bags" with basic common sense supplies in case they need to bug out in the event of a natural disaster and others seem to be seriously into it, almost to the degree to which mormons are.
backup generators and a year's supply of food and water).
What prompted this thread was a JW acquaintance wanting help with a generator transfer switch, which (IMO) is pretty far beyond a basic bug out bag. This gentleman served in the air force before his JW days, so maybe that makes him an exception.
On the whole though, I think it's a far more responsible thing to encourage church members to take care of basic needs themselves (Like Joseph during the 7 years of famine) as opposed to the idea that they don't need to lift a finger because God will take care of them personally. Certainly God could do that if he chose to, but no human can know that before the fact and it's irresponsible to tell people otherwise,
