The venue seats 9275 in the fixed seats alone. With the arena floor filled with folding chairs, it would be +/- 10,000.
I'm guessing JW's have gotten hooked on listening to the program from the comfort of their homes, maybe?

the jehovah's witness 2023 convention theme is, ''exercise patience''...by looking at the attendance at this tucson, arizona convention, it should be changed to, '' jehovah's witnesses...running out of patience''.

hey guys!
i'm new on this site and am a non jw here married to a jw.
my husband's family are active members and they daily post articles on facebook from jw.org which i know is meant for me to see and read.
....and hanging completely vertically actually served to kill a person faster than would happen on a cross.
Yes. In just a few minutes.
It doesn't take a lot of imagination to understand why an ancient culture might have considered that too humane.
this week's first amendment case has a slant that may sound familiar to jws.
most are aware that the wt won a number of supreme court decisions in the '40s related to free speech (the first amendment of the us constitution).
in particular, the flag salute case in '39, which they lost, tried to argue that not saluting the flag was a religious issue.
So, no blacks allowed is ok?
I don't see how the services of a web designer would qualify as public accommodation in the sense that a restaurant, a hotel, a bar, or a public beach would.
The case of Masterpiece Cakeshop was a little more difficult, inasmuch as a shop on a city street is definitely a public accommodation, but the services of custom decorator are not.
putting this under "friends" because i couldn't figure out where to put it.
it is very often on here and in ex jw videos, ect that people like to undermine some of those who once we would have called friends.
there seems to be a view that window washers, plumbers, cleaners, construction workers are somehow less intelligent than those who may be college educated.
I would guess that context is probably important. (As with all things)
There's a helluva difference between an educated person being a snot about it versus a JW pontificating to a degreed professional in their own field.
I've seen both.
is it an original from the graphics department?.
anyone know?.
It's no more stock photography then the pictures of Sharbat Gula (National Geographic 1985), Madonna (Rolling Stone 1987), Bob Dylan (Prisma 2011), Marilyn Monroe (Playboy 1953) and Dwight Eisenhower (Life 1948) were.
--Magazines known for their iconic photography took their own photographs, which is what made them unique. And although it offended a lot of German women, there is no denying that the picture of Grace Jones, naked and in chains (Stern 1978) was iconic

Stern has crossed into the risque many times.
In 1978, Gruner + Jahr was sued (unsuccessfully) to ban the sexualized covers from the magazine so I am hardly the only person to know of and remember them:

(Picture taken from Jeffro's post on page 3 of this thread)
If I'm not mistaken, that was actress and Playboy model, Pascale Petit.
There's no delicate way to ask the question, so I'm just going to blurt it out.
What are JW's doing reading Stern?
Ich bin nicht prüde, aber ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass Zeugen Jehovas diese Zeitschrift lesen:
if jesus memorial meal is meant to follow on from the jewish passover celebration, would someone explain to me why the jehovah's witness community are holding their "lord's evening meal" on tuesday 4th april; when the jewish community are not holding their 2023 passover until the 5th april 2023?
doesn't this mean that the jehovahs have got their date wrong?.

Fisherman,
I've heard similar explanations of Numbers 33:3 on other forums, but they do not (IMO) come to grips with the language of the verse.
Some translations, like YLT and KJV explicitly use the words "morning" or "morrow" and others, like the NWT emphasis the back-to-back linearity with phrases like, "Directly the day after the Passover" and "The very day after the Passover"
You've suggested that the word "day" should be understood as a reference to the calandar date, as opposed to the normal, unglossed meaning of the word, yôm, but your reason seems to be more of a desire to harmonize JW teaching when what is needed here is a valid textual basis.
“1975” still marks 6000 years from the creation of adam in wt calendar.
according to “all scriptures inspired” book, there is a gap between the creation of adam and the creation of eve and her marriage to adam.
it was at that point in time when eve was created that marked the end of the 6th creative day and the beginning of god’s rest, the 7th day as recorded in genesis.
Genesis 5:3 claims Adam was 130 when Seth was born

Therefore, Numbers 33:3 does not refer to the following morning daylight after Passover
I think you're off your stride here, my friend.
First: That idea is contradicted by JW literature itself. The opening sentence from the Insight article you quoted above plainly states,
"Passover (Heb., peʹsach; Gr., paʹskha) was instituted the evening preceding the Exodus from Egypt." (Emphasis mine)
This is not the only such statement in JW literature either...
Second: That we are talking about the daylight period of the 15th is necessary, given the context of a triumphal procession in full view of the Egyptians.
Some translations explicitly use the words "morning" and "morrow" and others, like the NWT emphasis the back-to-back linearity with phrases like, "Directly the day after the Passover" and "The very day after the Passover"
Third: Injecting an additional 24 to 36 hours into the story doesn't fit the symbolism. The Insight article goes on to comment:
"The partakers ate in a standing position, their hips girded, staff in hand, sandals on so as to be ready for a long journey over rough ground."
This observation is nonsensical when we have the Israelites milling around, doing who knows what, for the entire daylight period of the 14th and the entire nighttime period of the 15th.
