As if.
No, Of course he's already asking for Federal Aid. It's the Republican way. Florida needs the rest of the country to pitch in taxpayer dollars because it's different when it happens to me. It's completely different from 2012 when he voted against aid to New York. That was different. Those New York liberals need to sort their own affairs. Clearly this situation with good patriotic Floridians is far different and we deserve aid.
See also: Mitch McConnell, who also opposed aid in 2012, not only begged for aid to his state of Kentucky after the recent floods, but complained that the feds didn't act fast enough.
Of course 8 of 10 of the most Republican states are on the dole. Perhaps we should just let them go....

"Well, it was the US. They did it to themselves but the bombs were close to detonating (3 of 4 steps completed) and one couldn't be recovered, so it's still there, weapons-grade uranium in a field in North Carolina
The fact that both of these events is so poorly known likely has something todo with it being done by the government itself."
Errrr...I wouldn't say they are poorly known.Everyone and their brother knows about the Goldsboro crash. Also the Tybee Island incedent. Tybee was a childhood vacation spot. Everyone knows there is a nuke in Wassaw Sound at Tybee Island. I've known it since I was a kid. It's not some sort of big secret. -

"Yes, that might be true, till 2020. Something went wrong after that."
Well, that's a new tack from the anti-vaccine people. In my memory, the movement picked up steam in the late 90's, coincidentally when everyone started getting internet access. Back then people were reading stuff saying vaccines contained thimerosal. Vaccines cause autism etc etc. The late 90's was around the time that my circle of friends began having children and a few jumped onto that particular nonsense and for a while didn't want to get their children any vaccines. Thankfully they came to their senses.
I think my great-grandparents, who lived in a time when smallpox was real, Polio, Rubella, Measles, Whooping Cough and on and on were actual worries for their children's lives would call you a moron.
But you're saying all those were good. Its the new one thats bad. And you've discovered the truth "on your internet" lol. This time the conspiracy is REAL!
Isn't it strange how the powerful people running these vast conspiracies involving thousands of co-conspirator's have it all planned out, but they keep getting foiled by people making YouTube videos from a dirty apartment. You'd think "they" would just give up. -

Avoiding Temptation As a Young Elder
by TMS init was the summer of '72.
i was 24 but had been the presiding overseer or congregation servant of a small congregation in the county seat of an arkansas county for about 3 years.. my regular pioneer wife of nearly four years was big and pregnant, with our attempts at birth control unsuccessful.. one of my wife's several bible studies was with a young woman named brenda whom my wife had encountered in door to door work.. brenda had two young children she could barely handle and was married to a very countryfied arkie named henry who worked as a chicken catcher, one of the most difficult jobs at the local chicken plant.. brenda eventually revealed that she'd been raised as a jw, but was never baptized, having left home to marry henry at age 14. she spoke of her family in texas, mentioning her mother and two older sisters, all jws she said.. one morning, just before the meeting for field service, we noticed a small car in kingdom hall parking lot.
my wife and i were parked to one side of the hall in our aluminum nashua house trailer.. two young women got out of the car and soon joined us for the meeting for service, identifying themselves as brenda's sisters from texas.. the two girls, ages 17 and 20, were distractingly beautiful, with the eldest decked out like a magnificent southern belle including hat and heels, her high-end clothing accentuating her very obvious curves.. with no one else showing up for field service, it ended up just the four of us in the car group with the two texas girls in the back seat.. starting our time at a not-at-home, the 20 year old asked if she could accompany me to "hear my presentation.

Is doomsday coming as the Bible predicts or will nothing happen eventually?
by Fisherman inthe bible predicts that at some point, the god of the bible will take action.
this is very convincing when reading bible prophecy and history to back up prophecy as represented in the bible.
—exactly when god acts is another subject..

"Revelation and the other riders famine, disease, war"
That's some prophecy. "I have a vision. That which happened in the past, and is currently happening in the present, will continue to happen in the future. " Praise the Lord. -

Would you still be angry with Lloyd Evans ?
by BettyHumpter inif instead of thailand, he had gone to a place where its legal and (supposedly) has some sort of oversight to prevent exploitation?
like nevada in the u.s or amsterdam in europe?
would the being unfaithful part still be a deal breaker as far as supporting his channel?

If instead of Thailand, he had gone to a place where its legal and (supposedly) has some sort of oversight to prevent exploitation? Like Nevada in the U.S or Amsterdam in Europe? Would the being unfaithful part still be a deal breaker as far as supporting his channel? What if he was single?
For me, apart from the potential exploitation factor, it was the making it public. If my spouse confessed to me that they had cheated with an escort, i'd be hurt and furious. If they then told the world via the internet they had done this, i'd be hurt, furious with the additional dagger of public humiliation thrown in.
If he had been single, i'd say "Yuck, but to each his own".

“The United Socialist States of America?”
by Fisherman inwhen i was growing up, some people were on welfare but the vast majority were working people that paid their own rent, doctor’s bills, medicine, food, etc.
—and saved money.
so, a working person did not need financial help from the government if they didn’t have vices.

No idea if this is actually true or just one of those anecdotes you read, but supposedly in many countries parents don't have this bizarre expectation that the kids need to punted out the door as soon as they graduate. Work, Yes. But I think maybe they see the wastefulness of someone in an entry level job pouring most of their paycheck into rent and therefore unable to save much of anything to buy something of their own. It becomes a trap.

"So you make 600 week and I will say take home less 20% = $480 x 4 = $1920 a month. The average apartment rent here ( I just looked it up )is $1464 a month. ( you are right-no designer purses! ) if you keep the utilities on, I guess you are going to the food bank"
True. The bright side, at least if you're in your 20's, is that there are lots of single people in the same boat so finding roomates is not too hard. -

Jehovah's Witnesses - Where is Your Money Going?
by Sea Breeze inafter discouraging and in many instances prohibiting jw's from getting an education, like in computer graphics, film-making and design, the wt is employing these kinds of professionals and throwing vast sums of money at their new film-making adventures doubtless from all the properties they confiscated, sold that the local members paid for.
kim and mikey talk about this primarily starting at 13:15https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqafxmsjirk&ab_channel=kimmikey .

"The rank-and-file are strongly encouraged to eschew a secondary education in favor of a low-demand job so that they have plenty of time to recruit more people into the cult."
Do you think the leadership is aware that this is a futile effort? How many people covert to JW via the door to door ministry? On these type forums, reddit etc, it seems almost everyone's story is of being a 3rd or 4th generation JW.
Looking back, I struggle to remember anyone having a regular bible study, much less a baptised convert. In my entire childhood/teenage years I remember one couple who joined and a few random weirdo's who I guess were 'studying' but were probably also dealing with mental health issues. Otherwise it was the same faces i'd known since birth and any growth in membership was just people having a bunch of kids.
