  my name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.

  no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.

  i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.

  With all respect Matthew. This religion is indefensible. As an organisation there encouraged treatment of non witness people and former witnesses is shocking and not humane.

  Some and it’s a minority of the people buck against the trend, but even they get treated by second class citizens by the BOE and the R&F.

  If you honestly believe that they “respect” your decision you are extremely naive. you will be classed as a colossal waste of time and wouldn’t have made a good brother. I’m just saying it how it is from my 40 years experience in this cult, for that is what it is. You sir have had an extremely lucky escape.

  My advice. Move on, don’t give them a second look.

  This is typical of them!

  they can’t just get together have a bit of music and a drink. (They could at my parties!) but if it’s a now discouraged “congregation” get together some self righteous prick always has to feel the need to do something along these lines.

  so yesterday when i went to the library there were three older gentlemen in suits standing around the front door.

  i spotted the stand with the magazines a second or two later.

  they were talking among themselves, totally ignoring everybody walking past them.

  And of course there is always the exaggerated experiences.

  This is nothing new. I remember about 10 years ago a letter being read to those that served as attendants. Pretty much said keep your cool, but if struck at use any means to restrain the individual. The brother said so find the heaviest thing and whack him with it.

  i vaguely remember my mother doing them, and me trying to do them when i was a small child.

  is this an accurate memory or could i be thinking of a non-jw publication.

  Does Disfellowshipping only prohibit spiritual contact with a DF family member or friend?

  all through my life, now in my 40's, i've seen df people get completely shunned by family and friends, but an ex elder showed me the stfog book that says it's just spiritual contact that stops.

  so what's the crack?

  i'm mega confused, as i want to go p.o.m.o or ideally da but don't want to loose family..

  In the shepherd the flock book it says that a family member having non spiritual association with a disfellowshipped family member should be counselled but no judicial action can be taken. However, they will not be able to hold privileges of service in the congregation as these require an individual to be exemplary.

  So if your disfellowshipped and your father who is an elder shuns you, he is choosing his privilege of service to an organisation over his duty and love as a father.

  London Protest 2018

  well today marks the beginning and biggest day of our protest at the london excel.. we believe it's a record number at around 100 exjws at the front door.. we spoke to lots of jw's and one young man studying who has quit after talking to us.

  we've been approached privately by jw's who thanked us for coming and the security at the event treated us very well.. if anyone wants to see some clips they are available on my channel the great apostate.. thanks to all for the support and love..

  This is my First post, been lurking for about a year. (I will post my story another time)

  the results of any protest/marketing campaign should be easily measurable. Ask the guys at JW Facts to look at the analytics of the website, if set up correctly they can see new hits and what areas/ regions etc if there was a spike in London or the uk over the course of the convention and the following days then some good was being done.

  when the dubs sit at the cart all day and talk to no one the spin is ,it’s a good witness they know who we are, we are doing good. I even heard one brother say, if you knock on the door and no one answers, it’s a good witness, as even in there Head they have said Jehovah’s Witnesses! the seed is sown!

  so Josephus, the seed is sown. Even years down the line, people will still remember seeing you all there, and maybe just maybe!
