  am i normal?

  ok, so i am 17 almost 18. i used to have a boyfriend.

  we were gonna get married this coming december, but stuff happened and we aren't now.

  i had sex with him before marriage, and the bible firmly states to deaden your body memebers, which apparently we did not.

  I've never experimented with it myself. When I was about 9 or 10, in those days of total innocence, me and my younger brother touched tongues just to see what it was like. When I was pioneering, there was this guy who could do an amusingly perfect gay impression, then he'd touch the other guys in the cargroup affectionately. Caused curiously sentimental thoughts, interestingly, and shed some light on the un-Witnesslike possibility of accepting the idea that men could feel that way on a permanent basis. Mind-opening, and appreciated. Never went that way.. ;)

  Well, it's not the end of the tunnel. The anti-humanitarian Soviet Union was blocked from Middle-East oil by these thugs. Now that the tool has gone anti-humanitarian, and decided to rattle its sabres, the US is free in many ways to focus upon it without vast distraction. It's now a matter of coalition and cooperation among nations to keep this cleasing all above-board, so that there Are few civilians affected. Keeping the moral hiugh gorund, not lashing out at an unclear target, retaining Arab faith and general Islamic trust, these are critical to excising this part of radical fundamentalism that could (and has, admittedly) rear it head in any religious base.

  The JWs say that the world government will turn on world religion. Uh, no. Progress and technological saturation see to it that previously religious types get that advantages of having free resource to think for themselves, of becoming their own people. Therefore, religion ends on its own, or sublimates to a personal expression rather than an army of hate and division. The tenets of Islam itself don't condemn globalization. But tumorous, cancerous sections in any body part, whether we understand exactly what all that part does or not, have to be removed.

  Do Not Call List

  do not call list.

  an ex-jw in the uk has come up with a brainwave!!.

  he canvassed his local area and came up with a signed list of several thousand householders who did not wish to be called on again by jehovahs witnesses.. this list was then handed to the local congregations and the london bethel who were then obliged to list all those households as do not calls.. has anyone else tried this?

  This sounds like a life-saving work.

  (Personally, my philosophy was that being a JW was a game. Only those who figure out that it's a game are allowed to stop playing. All the people with pointy hats are required to keep playing until they reach the solution of the koan and take hold of Nirvana. That koan is, "What is the sound of no hand knocking?")

  Taliban Taboos...

  since coming to power in 1996, the taliban has issued a series of measures seeking to impose their interpretation of islam on the country.. prayer.

  failure to pray to mecca five times a day -- a requirement of the muslim religion -- is punishable by imprisonment.. women and driving.

  drivers are prohibited from giving rides to women.

  When I hear Americans plead for patience out of fear of killing innocent Afghanis, I agree.

  When I hear Americans plead for non-aggression against the terrorists who did this, in the hope that we can 'see it their way', I try to not talk back. Surely, I tell myself, there is some basic things we can learn from walking a mile in their shoes.

  If I hear anyone defend this Towelbun government Solely on the principle that they are a different culture and entitled to their own state of progress, I say deport that person before something happens to them in a dark alley.

  I'm Scared

  before i get started on what i'm afraid will be a lengthy post, i just want to say a few things.

  this may not be the appropriate forum for me to post what i need to say, but i hope that all of you will be understanding and supportive of how i feel.

  i've been lurking here for quite some time and have even been brave enough to make a few posts, so i feel somewhat comfortable expressing this here.. perhaps i should discuss my background a bit before getting to the heart of the matter so you all can understand where i'm coming from.. i am a late 20-something former jw, never disassociated myself but completely stopped attending meetings about four or five years ago.

  i have been spending time in live jw chat rooms since the events of 9-11. listening to the jws chat amongst themselves and seeing how they are reacting to this atrocity, i am both horrified and sickened.

  as stated on another board i frequent:.

  "for any religion to use this horrific act of terror as a means to proselytize is almost as reprehensible as the act of terrorism itself!".

  My first true sickness was at the absurdity of the interpretations of there being no marriageability or sexual awareness for resurrected persons. Once I saw a glimpse of hope in some random article, I prayed that all babes age 13-25 would somehow die before Armageddon and come back later. Unfortunately there were no articles that gave a hope toward polygamy.. at the time.

  ``Quality Time'' in Field Service: Fact or Fiction

  based on comments in various threads, it seems that many of you are acquainted with the various ``dodges'' jws use to strech out their field service time: foot-dragging, driving around on return visits from one far-flung end of the territory to the other, the skilful avoidance of contact with housholders, coffee breaks, etc.

  etc.. do you have any impression of how pervasive these time-wasting such practices are, and what proportion of the time reported by jws is actually bogus and not spent productively?

  or, put another way, how rare is is to encounter who just loves to go out and who uses his/her time efficiently from beginning to end?.

  I'll freely admit that I came to enjoy field service for the chance to get out and see nature, the land, the sky, the water. (rural central PA, mountians and rivers, but have worked in central WV. I became pagan because of seeing so much natural beauty in field service.) It was also a perfect excuse to get some distance/up close onto other people's property to see their architecture, home decor, interesting possessions, landscaping and scenery. The long drives in rural areas afforded excellent music opportunities with my other fellow young-male pioneers, those who had some taste in music. You had fair reason to go to various restaurants in out of the way places. I would often meet and go by myself on a bible study that I knew had good odds of not being there. I also insisted on driving because I knew how to drive more than abundantly slow and provide the most pleasant, unurgent ride.

  I've only known of one sister who used a stopwatch to count time. It may have been as close as she could get to how deathly conscious the bros were of their precious platform time.

  "Normal" is not a good word in this instance. What does "not normal" mean but abnormal? "Abnormal" is "normally" a medical term, a bad one. Flee from Jehobalon the Great, and touch nothing unclean, including sentiments and judgements of 'normalcy'. - Teirce 83.18 ;)

  Andee says "To deliberately bring into the world a child without a father is contemptable, IMO. Two women do not take the place of a father, period." - I'm curious - Would you agree that women have acquired increasing rights, volition and wherewithal in the West? Would you agree that women have to take on the masculine role of disciplinarian for awol fathers, all the time? The statistics are not bad for single-parent families where the volition and wherewithal conditions are met. How, exactly, in this day and age, are women incapable of providing the discipline necessary for the objective of raising their child as a respectful human being? (That's the most commonly cited objective.) In biology, males are genetic cross-polinators and are more disposable after the birth of young. What is it about human society that requires male paternal patronage throughout life, that is not needed in the animal kingdom? Does this indicate a belief that women are absolutely helpless without men, in this respect? (And how Airwalk's situation got transmuted into her not knowing what a father is, I don't know. Airwalk never remotely indicated anything about her father.) I would just ask Andee to clarify her line of questioning.

  Airwalk said "but how would we have a baby together. i would love it if it could come from both of us" - Not to burst your bubble of disbelief, but I think this has been done with animal ova. I won't go searching for it, but it had something to do with combining the DNA of one ovum with that of the host ovum. Not sure if it was successful, not sure if it's a false memory. Much much getting done in that area.

  "then when i reflect back on how i feel, i feel icky because these things are coming out of my mouth. my mother would shit a brick." - I can only think to suggest you might let your mother know that it's now 2001AD. We're in the third millenium. Maybe that's harsh, I don't know. (Actually, what's your mom's position on the JW's?)

  Sorry for being harsh, guys. I'm new, I'm no one, I'm about to get shooed by Eman. I just see some Jehovaism Kling-ons that could stand a little Raid. Might burn, I know. Sorry. I get burned by the gf all. the. time. To hell with me!
