I used to do those same kind of things.. alot of times during a boring talk, I would go to the scripture mentioned. Then I would be like, hmm.. thats interesting.. and just read the whole book. Or I would try to look up dirty words (like one day *poof* there would be cuss words in the Bible!!) I would look up masturbation, sex, beastiality... whatever. My friends and I would point out different scriptures trying to diss each other. I would give him one that said his loins 'were enflamed like a horses' and he would give me one that talked about my 'bosoms' or whatnot... it sounds dorky but believe me, it made the time pass!
TMS, I sure couldve used you at my meetings... I wasnt too good at percentages, but I was always trying to figure out how fast the Watchtower would go!! I HATED the &^%$* elder who would see a chapter in parenthesis and decide to READ it!! He would always let some kid read it, taking another 15 minutes. GRRRRRRRRR.....

yesterday my brother (ever-loyal witness baptized same day as me 10 years ago; who is married to a holier-than-thou regular pioneer and subsequently with her encouragement has since avoided me as much as possible since i da myself) and his wife (see description above) came over to visit.. well.. shooting the proverbial shit, we got to the topic of movies.
asking politely if he or his wife had seen lord of the rings.. she interjected that it was inappropriate because it suggested wizardry and spiritism, and would never see such filth.

You shouldnt take offense to not many people responding to your posts. I find that at almost every message board I've been to, I get little replies. Then I get offended, wonder why I'm always the oddball.. only to find a dumb post set afire!
Personally, I try to post to a thread where I feel passionate about or can add my 2 cents. Sometimes I dont feel like I can say it eloquently enough or someone else said exactly what I was going to say. But lately I've been kinder to myself.. I dont think I need to be a brainy poster or spout off tons of rhetoric remembered from books I've read. I just say what I feel... it works for me!

hi all, just thought i'd mention something that's been bugging me a bit, i've noticed that a few ppl on this board are using gifs from internetbumperstickers.com.. i myself have gotten some amazing little gifs from that site, they seriously kick the llama's ass!.
there is only one thing: those nice guys at internetbumperstickers pay real money for the bandwidth they use, and when you guys link to their images in your sigs, that means that every unique ip that views this page (provided they are using an image-enabled browser) is going to download that image from their servers.
you might think that these tiny 2k gifs are nothing, but believe me, i was an administrator for a couple of websites, and the bandwidth adds up, and pretty soon you're paying through your nose for other people free loading.. the solution is a simple one: merely copy the files to your computer, find a server where you can stick them that allows public http access to files you can upload to it, ftp them onto the server, and then update your sigs to point to the new image location.
