  does every issue of morality have to be compared with the thinking and teaching of jehovahs witnesses?

  simply because you are no longer jehovahs witnesses does that mean that you flaunt all moral authority and engaged in any perverted pleasure that you have a mind to?

  because your morality is no longer legislated by a pseudo religious organization does that give you license to engage in all acts of "immorality" and refer to it "as just having fun.

  Sabine, I used to live in Hawaii and went to a nude beach there. They called it 'Donkey Beach'. Does this sound familiar? Lemme know....

  p.s. I respect and agree that swimming nude is a very freeing and relaxing experience.

  Violet, your posts confuse me. In some posts you say that you're going back to the Org and leaving the hypocritical apostates, and then in other posts you call the witnesses 'brainwashed' and liken them to the hypocritical Pharisees of old.

  Are you in or out? I'm not saying this to offend...if you have addressed this earlier, I apologize, I am just a little confused how to take your posts. I never really get where you're coming from.

  what brings a smile to your face?

  i cant help but smile when my wife laughs, or when my kids play outside.

  i also smile when my boy, who is 15 wants to talk to me.

  Mimilly, I know what you mean...

  When someone looks a bit crusty around the edges, sad or just hardened by life...I like to smile at them and treat them warmly.

  I have a grumpy old neighbor next door who bites everyone's head off... he screamed out the window many times about my dog who was yapping at cars (my dog is hardly ever outdoors). I had put up with his yelling for a few weeks....I thought of going over and telling him off, but wondered how he got so sad in his life. I figured he must be pretty bitter about life....I also noticed I never saw anyone visit him, no grandkids, relatives, nothing.

  So I made some banana bread with a nice note and left it on his doorstep. A few days later I see him walking out to his car and he smiles at me. 'Thanks sweetie for the bread. I know I can be an ass sometimes... I sure hope you didnt poison it!!' We both started laughing and he got in his car with a huge smile. Knowing I rose above the situation and acted with love made me realize how much my attitude and actions affect my happiness. And that made me smile.

  i know i asked this absolutely yonks back, then by the name of celtic, but with so many newcomers here i thought no harm but to ask once again.. how many artists do we have here or working in art related fields including film, music, theatre, environment, gardening, sculpture, graphic design, illustration, fine art, photograpy etc etc?.

  what hobbies do you have?

  how do you see your future artistic horizons opening up?

  PeaceLoveHarmony, I know what you mean. I would love to be the lead singer of a band..something like Hole or No Doubt. Lets start our own band!

  I definitely agree with the thought that many exjws have artsy tendancies... I know, during the meetings, I would stare at the wallpaper and analyze the different colors used. I would study the font for the scripture on the wall and trace it over and over in my mind. Dont know if that was the creativeness in me or just sheer boredom, LOL .

  oh man....check this out.. my brother, an active jw, whom i am very close too, called me sometime last year to tell me about the un issue.

  i never cared to talk about religion .... most of my family is in and i'm not.

  so i boringly reply,'oh yeah'..not really listening.

  My sis sent me an email this morning. It said basically how hurt she is because I've 'got so much going for me' and she had hoped I would be going back to the 'Truth someday'. It had talk about the 'time of the end' and not letting ourselves question things and letting apostate material seep in. She also stated she didnt think it would be wise for my nephews and niece to visit me, since I would not bring them to meetings and might influence them in an 'unsafe direction'.

  That's actually funny....her kids are not very well behaved and are very disrespectful. They hate going to meetings (they sleep through them) and fight alot. The only direction I could take them is up! LOL

  Amazing, your post made me chuckle out loud. I'd love to do that..but am hesitant to put my family through that. Although, as many have mentioned, I too, find it difficult to believe her hubby 'stumbled' across this site.

  I'm not going to change my pic or username because I think I'm doing nothing wrong.. I've lived a lie for 25 years of my life and am not about to resume that. Not that I support everyone being 'out' about who they are .... I can respect what some have to lose if they are found to be visiting an 'apostate' site.

  Thanks for all your support! It just goes to show how strangers around the world can be more family than your own blood relatives...

  My brother, an active jw, whom I am very close too, called me sometime last year to tell me about the UN issue. I never cared to talk about religion .... most of my family is in and I'm not. So I boringly reply,'oh yeah'..not really listening. He told me an apostate that lives in his apartment complex told him there were articles on the net. I was a little curious... so I go to watchtowerobserver.org. Very interesting stuff.

  Now I click on a link that takes me here. After a few weeks of reading, I post my first post. This place has become a hangout for me...I've never even considered any of my family have come here.

  So tonight, my sister calls (a regular pioneer) and wants to know why am i apostate??? I said 'what do you mean' and she said that her hubby (a ms) was doing research on jw material and found the link to jw.com. He thought it was for jws and read some threads. He reads a post from me and tells my sister,'boy that looks like Deborah.' He does a search on me, finds out that I am from Alaska, etc and says, 'IT IS DEBORAH!!!' He shows my sis, my sis calls my two brothers, brothers tell all the family...

  not that I am worried, I've got nothing to hide. But it kinda blew my cover...I liked getting jw info from her (the latest changes, etc) and have even gently brought up issues to talk about. Now she seems a bit angry with me. I dont think she'll be calling me back for awhile.

  oh darn...i hate when life grants those wishes, when you ask for them.

  this august 7th i leave the u.s. and fly to rio de janeiro and will be coming back late january or should time provide, mid march.

  i dread staying untill march, because of carnival...i know, i know...terrible, absolutely terrible.

  i read a comment by belbab on hillary's post this morning...he remarked that he had asked a question after the 09/11 attack, that no one answered.

  well, i didn't even remember reading it, so i did a simple search.

  One of the posters I really try to avoid clicking on is happyman. His posts are so hard for me to understand.. ' vhat u inn see nowd dee happininggs ov dat worlr' ..I cant make heads nor tails of it.

  There are others that I know will give me a chuckle or laugh outloud. I almost always will click to see what Beck_Melbourne has said because we think alot alike and she is crazy!

  I miss Beans on here because he would throw in a little spice in a thread. Bonezz has said some pretty funny stuff...

  For serious threads, I enjoy all the regulars here... I too, have calmed down on the welcome wagon..not that I didnt enjoy new people but sometimes they make a big fuss about being new and they're gone after a week.
