As I said before, they have no respect for heterosexuals that don't believe their crap, leave alone respecting lesbians.
BTW, when I saw the title of the post I thought it was about some film not suitable for children.
steve2: is there some way this can be presented so that it is crystal clear what was actually in the demonstrations and what was added?
i guess some will think it should be obvious - but this is where misunderstandings arise because we end up wrongly attributing something to jw organization that was never said.. circuit assembly theme: maintain love for jehovah!.
note to speaker: warmly encourage young ones to prove their friendship with jehovah by observing his commandments and defending his standards.

saw this phone number on t.v.
ad.
stating if you been abused by jehovah witnesses call this law firm..

Really? Because nothing comes up no matter what kind of search I do. Nonsense.
two ironys here... first of all the title "keep in expectation as jehovahs day draws near" - (this talk is from 2006!!
) i suppose 11 years isnt near enough.
second is that geoffrey jackson, of all people, is giving a talk that goes on and on about liars and how jehovah never lies.

Yes, it's all garbage.
Don't know, don't care.
...would you choose to ban the jw religion?.
if you wouldn't ban them what, if any, changes would you force upon them?.

Donald Trump, is that you?
No, it's not ok to ban a religion, any religion. It's illegal, it's immoral, and in USA goes completely against the principles upon which the nation was formed.
I wouldn't force any changes either. Since this is a fantasy, totally unreal, not-ever-existing-and-never-will-scenario, I think that "forcing" might not be the right word to use. I have zero respect for that organization, but I do defend their right to exist as a religious organization. So in my if, fantasy, never happening scenario, the leadership of the WT will be receptive to obtain feedback from the actual needs from their own people. I'm sure that if they decide to hold a focus group, the JWs themselves could create a great transformation for the better. But again, it's an if, fantasy, never-will-happen scenario.
i think the majority of forum friends are aware of the existence of a vibrant watchtower opposition in the spanish field.
for about 13 years the extj forum was probably the main instrument for that endeavor, sadly the couple sponsoring that site decided to close it at the end of last year.
it seems like they were overwhelmed with personal obligations and responsibilities; they were covering a 100% of the expenses without any outside cooperation or publicity.. after the closing of their forum, some of the friends started new sites to keep the flow of information alive.
Sad indeed.
Why people keep promoting them?
i am interested in finding out on a small scale the extent of which shunning has impacted on you personally.. my own experience is that when i faded about 12 years ago.
the woman whose house the book study was held at (and who was virtually a neighbour) walked right past me in my own street.
i remember it so well.
@UnshackleTheChains
I felt your pain in every word you typed. That is just so sad.
Thank you, but I don't think that I am in pain. I have my personal preference on how things should have turned out in relationship with my JW family, but if you look at the things in my life that I have and have accomplished, pain isn't exactly what comes to mind. I have a good fulfilling life.
Most importantly I have my family of choice. I am not alone, never have been. Furthermore, when I look at what/who/how they are, I'm more thankful I broke away from them than sorry. Plus, please don't make the assumption that because they are the JWs, they are the only ones in the position to shun. I chose not to have them in my life. I shunned them.
In fact, it's interesting to see how many JWs love, love, love to shun and hear how much people are sad and in pain for it, but hate, hate, hate when the people they shun agree with being shunned, don't want the JWs in their lives and are happier for it. That's not supposed to happen according to the JW crap they are taught.
my definition of a cult is just this:if you are not allowed to research outside of your religion's published sources, you are in a cult.what other religions (cults) are there that absolutely forbid outside research on threat of punishment / shunning?
Just about all religions frown on critical research from a outsiders perspective, why ?
There's a difference between wanting to convince people that their interpretation of the bible (for example) is the right and correct one, and punishing, shaming, even killing people for looking for information or even questioning the veracity of their claims.
Yes, religions of all kinds believe that they are right in everything they say. No one in their right mind ig going to make a claim and say "by the way, I'm wrong".
What makes it a high demand, controlling, cultic situation is the way people who question or do independent outside research are treated. Depending on the severity of the cult, the "consequences" of their research can be from laughing at them to getting killed.
The Amish (I think).
I agree. Some of those communities can be very restrictive, demanding and controlling.
so when i think of the word heaven.
i see angels, clouds and harp players.
but in reality when we think about it, for thousands of years it's been occupied by the devil himself and his demons.
But he can occupy the same space as demons. Hmmm.
He's supposed to be the creator of everything, including dirt and demons, and us.
BTW, if you start looking at the behavior of the bible's god you're going to end up looking at Roger from Jerrican Dad.
