  i became a ms then an elder.....the organization pushes you to be somebody within the confines of their realm.

  this latest attack in manchester u.k. targeting a venue attended by mainly children and teenagers who go to a concert by their favorite singer and then to be attacked by a terroist has to be the last straw... surely ?

  22 dead at last count mainly young girls enjoying a concert of their favourite singer ?

  and at least 50 others suffering injuries ?.

  22 dead at last count mainly young girls enjoying a concert of their favourite singer ? and at least 50 others suffering injuries ?

  And that lame vulgar pig that we have for a president said that he was going to get rid of ISIS in 30 days, that he had this masterful plan that he couldn't talk about. Today his formidable plan was just revealed. He called them losers in a tweet. Brilliant! The world is safe now!

  My deepest condolences to the innocent people who died in that attack.

  Interesting that none of those Trump butt licking worshipers are saying anything about it.

  Yes, same thing with anything preventing any crime on anyone. I've never even seen a fire arm in real live, so I can't imagine myself using one to kill a person. I guess I'll have to use other feasible, effective means, if I have a fire arm with me, chances are I'd be more effective with beating him to death with it.

  Elder told me that they are required to report to police.

  yesterday i had my weekly "mandatory" study with an elder, and i brought up child abuse and the whole issue with reporting it to the police.

  he told me that they are required to report to the police immediately, and that they never deter people from reporting anything.

  may i remind you that i am from denmark.. i find this interesting, as everything i find elsewhere states quite the opposite, or atleast provides statements that does not agree with his statements.

What are the newest guidelines on this issue? Have they made a new stance on police reporting? Or maybe i am just in that rare congregation with people who generally have some common human decency and moral ethics, and are therefore able to report immediately if something were to happen?
  

  In the early 2000s I had a conversation with one of my still-in JW sisters and she mentioned that there was supposedly some change and that they were required to report to the police. My other still-in JW sister told me that they were mandated to say that they were required to report to the police, and that there isn't any time line for that, meaning that they can do so after the statue of limitations passes.

  How true that is, I don't know, I don't care anyway. The WT doesn't give a fuck about children, period.

  okay, that new video about 1975 has got people talking, and yes, the child abuse cases will always require us to remain vigilant...but after my having left in the late 1980s/early 1990s, it seems all the real "exciting" stuff is gone.

  when i left the witnesses were still preaching that the "generation that was old enough to understand the events of 1914" will not pass away before armageddon comes.

  no blood cards were our badges (not that stupid jw logo) and that card meant what it said, "no blood"!

  Today the current Governing Body has turned the spotlight upon themselves. They've done away with the in-depth teachings, and have become a clown show of denial, covering up this and that, making excuses for the past, burying yesterday and turning the current Witnesses into boring ignoramuses.
  

  My opinion is that they are no longer depending upon their people. They now have a real estate business that is what's really making them money, so all the efforts and resources that they used to dedicate to make money through their people free selling their literature are no longer profitable and therefore, no longer the focus.
  

  They have no interest in their people. Now they have a better way of making money, so their religious crap is secondary. They know that due to the way people read (or don't) and the way people are more aware of who/how they are, they know well that their old model has been rendered obsolete.
