  Is true religion all about being serious?

  amidst of many barriers such as no birthday celebration, no blood transfusion, no voting, no political career, no military service, no national anthem, no higher studies ….. i felt handicapped.

  isn’t seriousness of the ego and joyfulness of egolessness?

  isn’t true religion all about a celebration of life?

  I wouldn't say that, but it's certainly not about freedom or spontaneity. Organized religion tries to control the way people live and makes decision. Christian religions are based on the premise that all humans are not supposed to even be alive and that "God" lets us live even though we don't deserve it. From that premise is that they then start ruling people's lives claiming that it's all to please the god that they claim had mercy on our worthless lives.

  How to convince someone to leave.

  i'm currently in a jehovah's witnesses household, which is very deep into the "truth".

  i woke up a few months ago, and i haven't told my parents yet.

  Anyways, I've been thinking of coming out for a while now and when I do I want to have a reason why they should leave too. Anyone have any good points I could make?
  

  Not sure why, but your post doesn't sound real to me. Probably because you don't give a lot of details. In any event, if you are still living with your parents and feel ready to make that decision, you should be able to feel capable of living on your own. Are you an adult? If so, can you support yourself? If so, why are you still living with your parents?

  If you are not an adult, then you are to follow your parents rules for as long as they support you and they are legally bound to take care of you. If that's the case, then prepare to leave when you are old enough to do so.
  

  Just telling your parents, the people who are putting a roof over you, that you want to leave, or convincing them that what they believe to be the best way of raising you is based on nonsense may not be on your best interest.

  If you know the basics on the JWs by now you should know that it's not just leaving or convincing them; it's about a number of decisions that they have made, including the way they chose to raise you, that you are up against.

  Prepare for it by becoming as independent as possible. Living under their roof may not be in your best interest.

  I voted no because being JWs is only one of my many messed up things in my family. Has nothing to do with the WT.

  My stance with whatever the WT says and does is very simple: it doesn't matter. Has no relevance in my life.

  this guy has to have the most courage of anyone i've ever seen or balls the size of basketballs.he actually gives a good talk and has tidbits scattered about throughout his public talk with hints,suggestions,innuendos of the wt organization.i never want to go in another kingdom hall again in my life but would have made an exception just to be in this audience.

  12 have empathy for unbelieving relatives.

  while we may be overjoyed about the bible truths we have learned, our relatives may mistakenly believe that we have been tricked or have become part of a cult.

  we should show empathy by trying to see things from their viewpoint and by listening carefully to discern their real concerns.

  most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

  they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.

  aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

  From me:

  Where is the proof?

  we all know that the governing body claim to be "god's representatives" and the "faithful and discreet slave" that dispenses spiritual food..... but where is the proof?.

  according to the bible (if we just for a moment take it as a reliable source), all of god's representatives in the past furnished proof of their appointment - not just self referential claims or statements.. for instance, moses and aaron performed miracles before pharaoh (such as the snake staffs.).

  other prophets performed signs and miracles such as making the sun stand still, healing sick people, making walls fall down, etc etc.... even jesus performed miracles as proof of his divine appointment!.

  What can they point to as PROOF CONCLUSIVE that they have been appointed by the Almighty to tell us all what to do?
  

  The same proof that Christians have to say that the bible is the word of god. "The bible is the word of god because the bible says so".

  Did a current or ex-JW help you to awaken?

  was there something that was said to you that got the wheel turning in your brain, that caused you to start waking up to ttatt, either by a jw or ex-jw that you didn't know was awake?

  i'm trying to think of things i can say or ask of my current family members still in that may help them to start seeing the real truth about the organization.

  People like to say you can't wake up a JW they have todo it themselves. I agree to a point but having the information out there is very important so when one is ready they can wake up. Plantings seeds is also very helpful and this is what helped to wake me and a friend up. So I think it's very important that former JWs stay active in planting seeds and activism.

  Don't let people saying JWs won't wake up unless their ready stop you!

  I completely agree. I think something more accurate to say is that people cannot expect immediate results by showing things like facts and their own misleading words. But yes, some ex-JWs start rethinking and replaying past conversations, and remember things they have heard prior, but under a different light.
  

  If at all, it takes time.
