How to help indoctrinated cult victims break free
by Faith after Deception incults are fuelled by fear, shame and secrecy.
members are taught to set their sights on a future existence on a paradise earth or in heaven, and forced to give up all hopes of true joy or fulfilment in this life.
they must resign themselves to boredom, drudgery and self-discipline, which is often accompanied by feelings of emptiness and dread.

How many faithful old JW`s are now living in Christendoms retirement homes not being cared for by the religion they gave their life for.
by smiddy3 init must be pointed out in favour of christendoms religions that they do not discriminate against people regarding their religious beliefs.
many old age jehovah`s witnesses are residents of christendoms age care homes.. isn`t this a conunudrum ?
they, jw`s condemn christendom as part of the world empire of false religion and they cast off their old faithful members to their enemy christendom , to look after them without lifting a finger themselves.. in the meantime they are raking in millions of dollars $$$$ in selling off real estate properties in new york and elsewhere around the world.

Jehovah`s Witnesses / Watch.Tower Society does nothing to look after rank and file members who have spent the best part of their life giving up their free time in spreading the message of the Watchtower into their old age.
That's the sad true. My own father is experiencing the consequences of that. No retirement money, no support, not even a visit from people in the congregation. Just sad.

People Asking Me To Help Them Leave
by pale.emperor ini dont know if it's due to the last convention, the recent broadcasts, the internet or just plain fatigue - but since the convention i've had a few people contact me via facebook messenger asking how i am then cutting to the chase asking me what it's like "on the outside" or "how did you adjust after leaving?
" and asking me how they can leave the wt but keep their families.. my reply is always the same, i show real genuine interest and concern and listen to their situation.
then i suggest a fade, how to fade, to ignore or reject elders visits, to not talk about their doubts to active jws under any circumstances and finally point them to this site.

How sad that simply leaving a group that he doesn't agree with means his life would be destroyed.
That is some messed up organization! Thanks for sharing this. I think that there is a lot more awareness of people who have left, and those in doubt are seeing us as a resource.
Thanks again.

Do they even realise how disgustingly immoral this is and how badly it reflects on the God they worship?
by doubtfull1799 infound this little gem when going through the daily texts.... so let me get this straight.... god knows your suffering really badly and wants to help.
he knows you feel like you're at your limit, but he also knows that you are not really - that you can handle some more suffering.
so instead of helping, he "patiently" waits till you are at your absolute limit, and only then does he help!?.
-
scratchme1010
So the point of his "patience?" To make sure you don't get out of your suffering too early? To make sure you experience the maximum suffering you can endure?
No. The point is a very simple one. That crap gives people who are suffering and don't/can't know better comfort. That is the lame explanation that some people buy to be able to copw with whatever --it life throws at them. It's that simple, that's how some people cope.

Fasten Your Seatbelts - The Crazy Has Started (Also, bring the Koolaid)
by berrygerry infrom facebook:just saw my jw mother after not seeing her for more than 2 years.
when i do see her, it is brief, she never asks about my life, doesn't ask about my 4 children her grandchildren, doesn't ask about my grandchildren...her great grandchildren, she doesn't ask about my other 2 brothers that she is also alienated from, she doesn't ask about my brothers family.
she doesn't talk about the jw/org either.

berrygerry, your post makes me sad. So much that she's missed over that Jehovah crap, a pure fantasy. Sad, just sad.

However this shit is in the "World" too.
As much as the WT claims that they aren't part of the world, and as much as they try to set themselves apart, they aren't. Good and bad people are both inside and outside that organization. There's nothing special about the Wt, only in their minds.
I'm glad that you're voting, and I'm glad that there are decent people in this world who values the morality of the candidates when making a decision.

The First Judicial Committee?
by Wild_Thing ini was wondering ... when do you think the first judicial committee took place?
can you imagine being the guinea pig for that kind of fiasco?
i bet they were like, "what kind of bullshit is this?".

I was wondering ... when do you think the first judicial committee took place? And what was it for?
Charles T Russel was sued for molesting a little girl. My guess is that the first JC was against his accuser.

Is the husband the head of his wife?
by Doug Mason inhow do we explain the marital role with what paul said in 1 cor.
“but i want you to realize that the head of every man is christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of christ is god.” (niv).
read a few chapters earlier at 1 corinthians 7 to see what paul does say about the relationships between husband and wife.

I think its the WIFE who should give HEAD to the husband?
Thats what I am thinking anyway.I think your post is hilarious, but this thread is posted in the "Bible Research & Study Articles" section, which means that some people are taking the thread seriously.
About the OP, honestly, just look around. Get your head (no pun intended) outside of the Bible and pay attention at how the world really works.
The issue of who in a household is better at what has nothing to do with gender. The Bible has nothing to do with who is more capable to perform (no pun intended again) in a given role or accomplish a given task.
The Bible is just wrong.

Casting Out DEMONS
by Cold Steel inif someone believes they're being plagued with demons or they have problems with hauntings, things moving by themselves or hearing voices or footsteps, who they gonna call?
i know they take demons very seriously, so who in the congregation do they go to when they need to bring out the big guns?
do they try to handle it themselves or is this a job for the elders?
-
scratchme1010
I know they take demons very seriously, so who in the congregation do they go to when they need to bring out the big guns?
JWs don't believe in exorcism, so I'm not sure what you mean about "bring out the big guns".
In my experience, if someone believes they're being plagued with demons or they have problems with hauntings, things moving by themselves or hearing voices or footsteps, that person (please bear in mind that I am talking exclusively about my experiences) also hear voices, has invisible friends, have severe OCD and depression, and/or has been through severely traumatic experiences (suffering PTSD).
As much as I want to take the issue of demons and hauntings seriously, I have no reason to do so based on my own experiences and the people I have heard talking about it.

Family events (getting old)
by Jayk inthe feeling of being disconnected from my family for so long makes me feel old.
i think it's because the people i saw all the time when i was younger i don't see to often and you really notice that change in little bits but over time it really shows.
