I can see how some may look at it and think "creepy". Is there a background story to back up the creepiness? Either way, if I was the father of that child, I'd be on the look out, just in case. You just never know.

Dinosaurs in Paradise
by The Real Edward Gentry ini'm so thankful for sites such as this.
i realise it's our imperfection but god's organization is not always open to 'outside the box' thinkers such as ourselves.
i've been researching dinosaurs and god's reason for not preserving these beasts beyond the flood of noah's day.

At first I thought you were serious, TREG. I had a good laugh.

What’s The Strangest Belief of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inthere’s a lot.
i think one strange view is how only 144000 go to heaven.
since the number is mentioned in the symbolic book of revelation, you would expect that the number would be viewed as figurative, but jws say otherwise.

I think a lot of what they teach is pure crap. Strange? Stupid things, like objects being possessed by demons, having a problem with saying Bless you after sneezing, covering up for child molesters, expecting abused children to get two witnesses to their being molested, having "question and answer" sessions in their meetings where both the questions and the answers come from them.
Just to name a few.

Will The Watchtower Ever Give Up Mandatory Shunning Of DF'd Members?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think the wt will never give up this practice unless forced to by the courts, even if they are financially failing terribly they will keep it because the moment they do get rid of it the whole thing will collapse even faster and they know it(or afraid of it happening).
they have painted themselves into a corner of financial ruin.

Will The Watchtower Ever Give Up Mandatory Shunning Of DF'd Members?
Maybe, maybe not. They change that policy all the time, except for the fact that they are shunned. I think that they struggle with it because they want to keep control of their people, which is their priority, so they keep making stupid adjustments. The moment that shunning shit stops working for them, they will change it.

"Are you humble enough to admit you were wrong?"
by stuckinarut2 inthat is a question i want to calmly and politely ask a witness next time i interact with them.
perhaps at a cart.. "the bible says we should be humble.
may i ask, are you humble enough to admit you were wrong on things you believe?

I wonder how that would go?
The exact same way everything else goes with them. They are right because they were wrong but now are right. According to them, the bible is right because the bible says so, which means that they are right by default because they say that it's the bible talking, not them, and the bible is right because the bible says so.

Really? All black decor on the Assembly Hall stage.
by longgone ini've seen some depressing color schemes at the kingdom and assembly halls in my lifetime, but this one could be the worst.. a family member just sent me an email to tell me she had nice day at the assembly.
she attached a picture of the stage to show me a friend of hers who had a part.
other than the platform itself which had cream carpeting it was nothing but various shades of black!

Can you imagine actually putting your hard earned money into a contribution box for that?
If you are brainwashed, I can clearly see that happening. Maybe black paint was on clearance?

The watchtower does not have the resources
by pepperheart inif you have a look at the december broadcast on jw tv they tell you that they wont be showing you a normal format for december but the 143rd event of gilead because the watchtower does not have the resources other wise to translate it many different lanuages.. with all the cuts the watchtower have made and are going to make you would have thought that they would have lots of resources.

Probably they meant that they don't have resources to share with their people. Either way, I see that as a very good thing.

Whole families leaving the Org has increased
by pomo6780 ini have noticed in the uk a few families i used to know while in the borg have exited together.
some include former elders and ministerial servants.
i observed on social media pages that the kids have 'worldly' boyfriends and girlfriends and they look so much happier than they did in the org.
-

I think the main reason for leaving is that the kids have introduced their parents to their friends not in the org and the parents wake up after seeing the world isn't bad after all.
That could be a reason. That would never fly in my family, though. I think that elders are placed in a bad position. They are placed in positions of authority, which some may find cool, but time after time becomes clear to many that they just don't have the life experience, leadership skills or political spine to continuously deal with people's personal problems and provide the very bad advice that they are bound to give. And then, they don't even get a thank you from their peers nor (horrors!) the WT.
Many elders are just burned out. Just my opinion.
Have you seen whole families leave? If so, for what reasons?
Not all at once, like a family Exodus. However, I've seen family members following the steps of some who leave, and the the entire family being out, and yes, like you say, happier, healthier and more vibrant.

What's destroying Watchtower!
by UnshackleTheChains infor me, beyond any shadow of a doubt, it's the extreme shunning policy.. at a recent sunday meeting, i listened to a complete brainwashed sister saying how important it was that we stick to the shunning policy even if it is a close relative.. i just thought.
wtf.
there is a big difference between the brainwashed and the awoken class!.

For me it's the fact that they insist in running an organization in the 21st century the way they did in the 19th century. Those idiots are not keeping up with the times. They still have the same archaic model.
That includes everything from their shunning practices, selling printed material, expecting their people to survive out of unskilled labor or a simple trade, no diversity and inclusion, horrible decision making about technology implementation and use, the list of their shitty practices is endless.
