What I hate is how they continue using English syntax in Spanish. The rest is just the same JW bullshit (in any language).

When lacking education makes you say some eternal truths
by paradiseseeker ini think some of us are familiar with those jw facebook pages that post images that are shared by our contacts from time to time.. i don't know if this happens with english speaking jws, but in the case of spanish speaking jws many of those images contain some spelling and grammar mistakes.. but this one is killing me nicely.. .
it literally means: "unless you use your life to serve jehovah, you will never feel empty".. beautiful :').

WT predicting smartphones back in the 20s?
by paradiseseeker ini've come across a jw friendly article about watchtower predicting smartphones in the 20s.. .
of course, in the comments section there are a lot of jws freaking out saying "there is no doubt that this is the only true organization!
", "thanks jehovah that used his faithful and discreet slave to tell us some useful information about the future!

The Constant Mindchatter After You Leave
by pale.emperor ini've been out almost 2 years now and consider myself wide awake to watchtower propaganda and well on my way to recovery from the mental abuse we've all experienced.. one thing that just will not go is that i constantly think of jwism and watchtower and get myself all annoyed at their lies and blatant twisting of facts in their broadcasts and magazines.
it's so bad that it's the first thing i think of when i wake up, then i have these mental arguments in my head proving the jw teachings false and then getting annoyed because no jw will listen even if you tried to tell them.
i call this constant thinking and mental reasoning and mental arguing "mindchatter".

Thank you for sharing. You don't ask for advice, and I respect that. However, please give yourself some time. 2 years is not a long time to de-influence yourself from the WT nonsense.
May I ask, where do you find peace of mind and comfort? Have you replaced the JWs with something healthy, not necessarily spiritual, but whatever void the JWs filled for you, do you get those needs fulfilled somewhere else (if you were a JW for a reason, not a born-in)?
Also, if you feel such discomfort, maybe talking to a mental health professional can help. Would you be open to that idea? Meanwhile, I'm glad that you are sharing here, who knows how many others are going through the same.

This week's (Jan 29th - Feb 4th) CLAM meeting "terrorist attack" video ...
by freddo inthis week's clam meeting has a video from jwborg entitled refreshing those “toiling and loaded down” about the organisation's response to two terrorist's attacks in new york (twin towers) and paris (bataclan 2015).. to me it is more about a back slapping "look what we do for you" than a "left hand not letting the right know" (matt 6 v 3) action of love and care.. ... ... ... ... ... .... if you've read this far - by contrast please google "didi bataclan paris" to read about a true unsung hero.
not forgetting the true heroes of 9/11 .... ... ... ... ... ... .
am i too cynical?.
-
scratchme1010
You are not cynical at all, freddo. The WT loves to criticize everything bad that happens in the world, except what they enjoy from it. They do nothing for anybody under the excuse that the world isn't worth saving, which is why I have no respect for them.

Has Watchtower taken the joy out of 'the good news of the kingdom'
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question for the following reason.
i was sitting at the kingdom hall thinking about all the rules, procedures, policies, teachings that each member must follow ......or else!.
at the watchtower study we are reminded of the paradise earth where we will all be the same and happy.

Will paradise be like a 24/7 Disneyland vacation package?
Put it this way, one of my eye openers when I was getting ready to leave that organization was this: I thought "If the disgusting, filthy, hypocritical, double-life living, pedophile, criminal, mentally damaged, and nasty backstabbing, gossip spreading with no spine, and moronic dumb-ass JWs I grew up living with and seeing, are going to be the ones living forever on Earth, that's not exactly my idea of paradise. No, effing, thank you!".
Doesn't look like vacation if you have to share life and the planet forever with those people. Just look around and imagine that, those people surrounding you forever on Earth, really?

What a A-hole "military people are the freaking lowest of our low"
by James Mixon ina government teacher and city council member(pico-rivers u.s.a) classroom rant, triggered by a student wearing a marine corps shirt.
the classroom rant recorded by one of his students.. "your freaking stupid uncle louie or whatever , they're dumb----, they're not high-level bankers, they're not academic people.
they're not intellectual people, they're the freaking lowest of our low".

That's a very disrespectful thing to do to anybody, leave alone a student that is supposed to look up to you as a teacher.
That's also very disrespectful to people who have served in the military, regardless of how right or wrong he might be (which I think he is wrong).
And what's this shit with Americans always insulting other people they don't like or agree with? OK, some Americans.

Wow , it’s all so very clear -
by CovertsadJW inthe late great christopher hitchens states that religion is poison and i believe that with my soul.
we are “ born sick and commanded to be well.” under threat of death- both of my parents were abused both physically and emotionally, my wife was what it sounds like verbally abused - the strange part is they don’t see that they are attached to a very abusive religion.
thoughts ?
-
scratchme1010
Thoughts ? I pout out abuseve practices but my parents do not see it - but that’s not a new problem and I’m not unique.
One of the very common characteristics of controlling and high demand groups and cults are that they attract (cater?) people who have been abused. On one hand people who have been abused (or all they know growing up is being in abusive relationships due to poor parenting or other relationships, such as being bullied in school or abused by teachers), some times grow a degree of awareness and look for comfort and ways to escape from such abuse, and think that they will find such comfort in religion. They come across a controlling organization and they might be sold on what they are offered.
On the other hand, some people grow too comfortable with being treated in an abusive manner, sometimes such abused masked as "love" or as "tough actions taken for your own good". They develop high tolerance to abuse, even if they are aware, it becomes their comfort zone, therefore, out of force of habit, fear, or being too traumatized to be able to accept that they are still being abused, remain in groups like the JWs.
For a person who don't know anything else it's difficult to understand abuse. To some people that becomes "normal".
