by eyeuse2badub inthe detroit free press article from yesterday that made front page news on yahoo makes it on yahoo again today!
good to see the main line news paying attention to what kind of sh*t goes on inside the watchtower.

How soon is soon?
by Sour Grapes ini guess if the jdubs have no clue how long a generation is they also wouldn't know how long a time period the word "soon" refers too.. 60 years ago my mother would hammer into my brain how soon the great tribulation was.
soon jehovah would destroy the wicked.
then a few years later there was no need to go to college because the end was so soon.

Now if I knew that the Gibbering Booty would read this then I would have done that since they don't seem to know how soon is soon.
They don't have to. They know they are fooling people with their nonsense.

Once bitten, twice shy
by UnshackleTheChains inok. having experienced the jdubs over 27 years.
i have come to the conclusion that sincere people have been 'conned' into the troof, into a 'system' of beliefs that immerses them into an organisation that holds them captive ie no honourble way out without being shunned by friends and family.. having gone through this horrible experience, many are afraid to join another christian group.
it's a bit like someone who trusted someone most of their life only to find that person was a devious lying individual.

Hello, and thank you for posting the part that I quoted. I personally feel that I need to be reminded of that.
I also love that you are posing a question about a subject that i believe is not the most popular here, which is feelings.
I'm rather ambivalent about anything religious, and I can tell more about what i don't believe and what I don't want in my life as a means for healthy spirituality. So I guess what I feel is indifference.

If the Watchtower corporation went bust
by Fred Franztone inwhat do you think would happen to jehovah's witnesses as a religion and as a people?.

Those of us with family & friends in the religion care
The question is not about family and friends, it's about the JWs. Furthermore, it's yet another unhealthy, escape from reality, unnecessary, never will happen what if that brings nothing positive to anyone.
Spend your time fostering a good relationship with your JW love ones instead of wasting time fantasizing.

Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses break silence on shunning
Like the rest of us have never talked about it before? Either way, thanks for the info. This might be helpful to some people who like making fun of JWs.

Clearly, undeniably, without doubt ... is there a term for introducing a thought in such a way.
by jwfacts inwatchtower article often introduce a point that has no merit with words such a "undeniably.".
for instance the watchtower 2014 august 15 page 10 says:.
"jehovah undeniably blesses the preaching work of christian women and supports them in times of trial.

Is there an official term for this type of fallacious reasoning?
Yes, idiocy.

Watchtower back to criticising the United Nations
by AverageJoe1 inthe outline number 44 from this year’s regional assembly states:.
la organización de las naciones unidas es en realidad una falsificación del reino mesiánico, y es una ofensa para dios.. .
translation: “the united nations organisation is actually a counterfeit of the messianic kingdom, and it is offensive to god.”.

They go in circles, don't they.

My last Memorial
by Sour Grapes ini missed my first memorial last year in 60 years.
it always amazed me on this special night that the jw's forget how to park their cars in the parking lot.
i would pull in with my wife and there are 5 brothers giving directions on where and how to park my car.

I am so thankful that I will never go to another meeting and sit through the sadness of rejecting Jesus.
It's been quite a few decades sine my last memorial (that expression has some suicidal quality to it), and for what you share, it doesn't seem like I have missed much.
The only memorial that was different to me was the one when I got a hand job.

Maybe they do care about you, but they may not have the skills to provide you with the support that you need. If you are talking PTSD (any reason why you call it that?), we are talking about a condition that is treated by people who are professionally trained to help patients with it. Unless your family is made of psychologists, psychiatrists or clinical social workers, they just can't have the skills to provide the help that you might need.
Have you reached out to any mental health professional? If not, I'd suggest you try. If you have, please tell your mental health professional that something might not be working.
If professional support is not an alternative to you (sometimes it's just not available or affordable), the next best thing is trying online support groups, such as the ones you find in a place like Daily Strength (not endorsing it, just suggesting it).
If online communities don't cut it, try reading some literature on the matter. There are plenty of self-help books that can be useful.
I hope you find the peace you might need.
