That's what people in the real estate business do, sell properties for profit.

As I have posted before, personally y stance is: Really, Jehovah? Such important message that is supposed to save many lives and matters so much, and it's supposed to be about the most important person next to the so-called Jehovah, is so, so important that we need an ancient book, archaeologists, theologians, chronologists, and who knows how many more other "ologists" to decipher it with prophecies, visions, dreams, involving World War 1, the destruction of Babylon, and this convoluted information forced to be tied up with history.
Give me an effing break.

Welcome.
Please show me some love and share some of your experiences with me. Good-bye for now. I am looking forward to your kind replies.
I was born in, I'm not in my 20s (nor in my 30s, nor in my 40s). I'm an old-school JW, but I left when I was 23. I planned to leave and with the help of a boyfriend I had at the time I was able to make it a process of what we now call fading.
I left for a number of reasons, but my most important reasons had nothing to do with what they teach. I felt that the WT was shove down my throat forcibly, and I never had the opportunity to properly decide by myself if I wanted to be a JW, which looking back, it was very obvious that I was never interested in being one.
The rest of my relationship with the WT has been as minimal as possible, and I keep up to date with some things mostly to be able to deal with some of my family members who still are. Other than that I can't care less about anything they do or say. I don't deny the influence of that organization in my life, but the way I look at it is, some people have to overcome worse things. The negative influence of a bad organization is not as bad as other cults have harmed other people.
In any event, welcome. I'd suggest that if you want to get a feel of people's personalities, spend some time reading their posts.

Local Elder Mentions this Site from the Platform
by James Jack ina local elder had the part this week on the "good news" brochure.
he said: "if the householder has any questions, direct them to jw.org, don't say, just look up jehovah's witnesses on the internet(an older sister said this at the door), if you do they will be directed to a site visited by apostates and weak witnesses!
" "this mistake, would cause the householder to never accept bible truth".. i thought to myself, wow, i'm sure some listening to this part, will get curious now(many in the hall are just being exposed to the internet, and practicing with their new tablets) and do, just what they were told not to do..

Nothing really new. That' just the technology version of the same thing that they do with any source of information. They say/do the exact same thing with college education, libraries, magazines, news, any communication media. The Internet is no different.

Does Anyone Know The "Real" Attitude That JWs Have Towards "Inactive Ones"?
by minimus indoes the rank and file or the elders view us as disassociated or disfellowshipped or simply "weak" or possibly a "prodigal son" type?.

Need help finding a quote!
by EdenOne ini need your help please.. i remember when the book "keep yourself in god's love" was published, there were instructions (published in a km ?
) to the publishers that the book should be the second book to study with bible students, that a publisher needed not wait to finish the book to be baptized, and that the appendix was of optional study.
can you help me find such quotes in english please?

The name was "The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life", not "Knowledge That Leads To Eternal Life". I don't know if it should have been standard all over the world, but where I grew up there was a book that they used after that one. It was "True Peace and Security: How Can You Find It?" or something like that.

Interesting explanation of a reason why some people stick with in the JW, regardless of facts - stress
by nonjwspouse inthis youtube is entirely interesting ( to me anyway) about the affects of stress on the body, and what causes that sress.
the jws who feel "at the top" in the jw, actually have reduced their stress d a degree.
when they feel empowered by "privileges" it brings a positive effect on stress levels, especially when in the outside of the jw world they have low level jobs with demanding supervisors, etc.

That's one reason. Interesting.

A scientist did better than all religious founders and teachers
by venus inthinking people have always sought a right reason for people to feel self-motivated to love each other (which is the goal of all religions).
in the process each religious leader presented some reasons which were not adequate because division appeared once the founder left the stage.. however, carl sagan (astronomer, astrophysicist, and science-fiction novelist ….etc) got it right when he wrote: “for small creatures, such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love” (contact, chapter 24 p. 430).
when an interviewer said this was the best of his quotes and asked him to put it in simple words, sagan said: “we exist in vastness of the universe, hence should have vast (great) mind of treating every one as residing/subsisting on the same (planet) home who breathe the same air (in contrast to going into smallness of contraction with each one seeking own interest).

...people have always sought a right reason for people to feel self-motivated to love each other...
That's the problem right there if you ask me. That seems based on the premise that people aren't capable or naturally interested in being kind to each other, which is not necessarily accurate.
In any event, science can explain many things way better than religion, but I'm not sure that something like love can be scientifically explained, or how can it promote loving each other, other than by choice. Although many religions preach "love", but not to gay people, not to fornicators, not to rape victims, and for as long as they say it's the right thing to do, otherwise people deserve to die.
There's no science or religion that can make that right in any way shape or form.
