Now there's a church worth being a member of!!!
Hallelujah!
most churches can be thought of as social meeting places, a structure where congregations come together and share a common bond.
a “church” in tennessee, though, has taken togetherness to a whole new level.
nashville authorities say a building registered as a church has actually been hosting late-night swingers parties, where lewd acts have been taking place,.
Now there's a church worth being a member of!!!
Hallelujah!
yesterday i had my weekly "mandatory" study with an elder, and i brought up child abuse and the whole issue with reporting it to the police.
he told me that they are required to report to the police immediately, and that they never deter people from reporting anything.
may i remind you that i am from denmark.. i find this interesting, as everything i find elsewhere states quite the opposite, or atleast provides statements that does not agree with his statements.
I find this interesting, as everything i find elsewhere states quite the opposite, or atleast provides statements that does not agree with his statements. What are the newest guidelines on this issue? Have they made a new stance on police reporting? Or maybe i am just in that rare congregation with people who generally have some common human decency and moral ethics, and are therefore able to report immediately if something were to happen?
In the early 2000s I had a conversation with one of my still-in JW sisters and she mentioned that there was supposedly some change and that they were required to report to the police. My other still-in JW sister told me that they were mandated to say that they were required to report to the police, and that there isn't any time line for that, meaning that they can do so after the statue of limitations passes.
How true that is, I don't know, I don't care anyway. The WT doesn't give a fuck about children, period.
conditions are i want to see it in print..
No, and personally it wouldn't make a difference if they did.
okay, that new video about 1975 has got people talking, and yes, the child abuse cases will always require us to remain vigilant...but after my having left in the late 1980s/early 1990s, it seems all the real "exciting" stuff is gone.
when i left the witnesses were still preaching that the "generation that was old enough to understand the events of 1914" will not pass away before armageddon comes.
no blood cards were our badges (not that stupid jw logo) and that card meant what it said, "no blood"!
Today the current Governing Body has turned the spotlight upon themselves. They've done away with the in-depth teachings, and have become a clown show of denial, covering up this and that, making excuses for the past, burying yesterday and turning the current Witnesses into boring ignoramuses.
My opinion is that they are no longer depending upon their people. They now have a real estate business that is what's really making them money, so all the efforts and resources that they used to dedicate to make money through their people free selling their literature are no longer profitable and therefore, no longer the focus.
They have no interest in their people. Now they have a better way of making money, so their religious crap is secondary. They know that due to the way people read (or don't) and the way people are more aware of who/how they are, they know well that their old model has been rendered obsolete.
yay!
now kids can help draw lot's wife getting destroyed.. .
That is just creepy (even by standards!).
this is probably the most qualitatively focused question that gets examined and investigated concerning the jws religion in a intent to derive an honest and correct answer to .
my opinion based from facts derived from evaluating the jws's doctrines and teachings compared to the teaching within the bible itself is outstandingly yes.
the probable reason for this is really not too hard to accept once its reflectively realized that the core operation of the jws is to publicly distribute the literature the wts's publishes.. doctrines were created and proliferated toward that agenda as they still are to this day.. the imposing fear of the soon to come armageddon, the supposed " this generation " , the said to come persecution of the jws because of the "end times" are all connecting adjectives that created a phobia or psychosis of fear that the wts uses and exploits to spur on the continuing proliferation and distribution of its own published works.. the unfortunate prevailing circumstances is that the wts creates a state of mental imbalance indoctrinated into people's consciousness who become strongly attached to this organization to their own peril and harm.. some have been so mentally wrapped up in this organization in their thinking consciousness and social attachment they couldn't resolve that engagement toward freeing themselves and their only resolve was to take their own life.. yes unfortunately suicide is closely related to the jws organization and disgustingly the wts leaders have used these suicides as vehicles of exploitation of see what happens when we leave the organization, again the element of fear is further exploited .
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Is the Jehovah's Witnesses religion based upon False Prophesy?
No. They are based on false everything.
so it seems that the 2017 convention will be showing a 3 part video series on lot's wife:.
https://www.jw.org/en/publications/videos/remember-lots-wife/.
perhaps they missed an opportunity to show the real story!:.
I'm subscribed to the channel of the third video you posted.
I actually love discussing that story with homophobes who seem to think that such ridiculous story is proof that their god disapproves homosexuality. All I do is asking them when do they plan to get their own daughters pregnant.
I'm sure form that point you know where I go.
is this the reaction you get when you walk into a kingdom hall sporting your new beard 🙄.
.
with tattoos becoming ever more popular in today's culture, i couldn't help but wonder what happens when people with ostentatious tattoos seek baptism?
are they admitted?
many don't have the money to have them removed, yet i can't imagine they'd be allowed to do pioneer work.
It all depends where you live...
I echo that. In the early 2000s when in USA Christianity wanted to be cool, they started showing people with tattoos in church as a way of saying that it was ok. With the JWs and in certain cultures, they may take a different approach.
hello there.. tried to bring this up with my family.
didnt go well - they cling on to the utopia that the org paints, so i am gonna put this topic to your attention.
i would love to hear what you guys/girls think about this - god or no god i find this interesting.
What do you think it will be?
Way back when I was a JW, I answered that question stating that the way their god thinks is pretty much laid out in the bible, so I figured it will be the same "thou shall not..." that you find there.
Of course, now to me it's all garbage of the worst kind, so who knows, who cares. None of what they can come up with matters at all (in terms of logic or knowledge; in terms of the decisions that they choose to make based on that crap, that's a different thing).
