Who's got it wrong - the Bible or the "faithful slave?"
It makes an interesting theological conversation.
according to the self-proclaimed "faithful and discreet slave" of jehovah's witnesses, all sorts of evil things are going to be allowed to occur during christ's 1000 year reign!
it-2 p. 789 resurrection - "they are judged, not on what they did before hearing his voice, but on what they do after hearing it.
re chap.

sad case in honington, devon, uk.. http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/man-charged-with-murder-over-stabbing-at-jehovah-s-witness-hall/story-30378569-detail/story.html.
No different than any other crime.
so i thought my purpose was to serve jehovah and get baptised.
where do i go now to get baptised?
is baptism even a requirement for serving god or was that just for the disciples and people of that time.
So I thought my purpose was to serve Jehovah and get baptised. Where do I go now to get baptised?
In essence you can just get a baptism anywhere they provide it. While you find a suitable place where you feel ok with your baptism, I'd encourage you to look and learn more about yourself as an individual.
Is baptism even a requirement for serving God or was that just for the disciples and people of that time.
No, if you want to serve your god, you can do that.
When any of you were baptised did you feel the Holy Spirit.
No. In fact, my JW baptism was a sham. I didn't feel anything different or special.
Do you still pray ? To whom do you pray ? So lost. Advice please.
I don't pray. I don't feel that I should be giving you any advice. My believe is that healthy spirituality comes from the inside out, not the other way around. Your spirituality is personal and just yours and just between you and your God. I hope you find peace.
i like to watch ted talks.. a recent one i watched was "why i left the westboro baptist church" x megan phelps-roper.
i have never heard of this church ever before after all i am in australia.
the talk and all the young woman stated as beliefs and dogma sounded just like the jw minus the noisy demos..
I found that Ted Talk very good and inspiring. Her insights are very good.
With my knowledge of the Bible I would have to be a Westbro Baptist if I ever returned to Christianity; anything less would be intellectually dishonest. They are one of the few Bible believing churches left in the world.
How so? I wonder because "knowledge of the Bible" is quite a simple statement. Pretty much every person alive in this planet has "knowledge of the Bible".
And what does "intellectually dishonest" mean?
i accepted a wt mag/rag from a bro i have known for decades just to be polite.
i asked him if he would like my comments on it sometime, he said he would listen, (yea maybe he will hear, but not really listen and absorb what i have to say.).
the interesting thing is, they are getting better, the borg, there was only one "half quote" where they select what they want from a source, and ignore the rest of what the source says.. and only one blatant lie.. it was the mag about the 4 horsemen, and a supplementary article makes the false claim that " archaeology repeatedly supports the bible's historical accuracy".. this is typical jw borg propaganda speak.
In terms of evidence of what they preach and teach is all nonsense, too many to mention. The crap that they show and tell is one aspect of it. How they have people make important life decisions based on their crap is what I find really cruel.
i thought this deserved its own topic.
it is a thought that occurred to me as i read the wt rag that i took to be polite.. it is the public one about the 4 horseman, and it struck me that they are still 100% reliant on their false 1914 doctrine to hang everything on.. if 1914 is proved wrong, what can the credibility of their doomsday message hang on ?.
we all know how to disprove the old 2520 years nonsense, but they seem to at last be hiding that, and simply claiming that world events prove jesus slung the devil out of heaven in 1914.. so, what has that old devil done since 1914, 103 years ago ?.
You can probably think of more "happy news". Yes, there are terror attacks and many problems to solve, but so far the Devil has proved a far better "king" than Jesus since 1914.
The one thing that I would point out, aside from I agreeing with you 100% in all your points, is that as you state in the part that I quoted, the reality of life is that it never is in black and white. Never, not once during the history of humanity have everything been all great or all bad for the entire human race.
We're always going to have a problem to solve and issue that emerge and never will have a satisfactory answer for everything, AND WE SHOULDN'T.
a thought occurred to us today about how christians, including witnesses love to quote some lovely passage of the bible as proof of god's love, or the value of the bible.. but just because a small passage or sentence is quoted doesn't mean the whole book is to be valued.. for instance, there may be a nice sentence or comment expressed in the passage of mein kampf, but would that make the book or it's author worthy of quoting or following?
the entire book and its message needs to taken into consideration!
(obviously that author had genocidal tendencies and disturbing ideas).
Same thing when I hear about the Bible and Donald Trump.
i've been watching this reality tv program called "catfish".
it deals with people who have had a rough deal with internet dating e.g fake profile, money scams etc.
any way there was one episode that really stuck out to me that made me realized the power of cognitive dissonance in dealing with jws.
He still couldn't accept he had been tricked and put it all down to a conspiracy theory. For something that everyone else could see this guy was just totally oblivious. I just could help but realize for all the hall marks of a scam, that the guy had kept at it for 5 years. Now we can perhaps understand the power of cognitive dissonance when talking to our JW loved ones.
Accepting a painful reality that they have been fooled it's too painful for some. Interesting.
the nephilim account in genesis is utterly ridiculous when you consider that angels are sex-less beings and would therefore lack sex-drive and romantic attraction.
think of how difficult it is for humans with a sex drive to be sexually attracted to animals.
now take away that sex drive and it becomes literally impossible.
The whole story should seem utterly ridiculous to anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of biology. I think this is perhaps one of the more under-mentioned and under-ridiculed stories of the bible.
Not to mention how awfully inappropriate for children is for them to hear about hybrid sex between humans and angels.
they hanged mary(i was going to tell you about it).
but then, i got "hung up".first off, to say "they hanged..." sounds awkward to most ears--even though it is entirely correct grammar!that stopped me.
temporarily.then...i decided on a new title:mary was hungoh, jeeze--that certainly gives a completely wrong impression of story content!
Mary was indeed hung. Thanks for the treat.
