My guess is that they like the publicity. They say nothing, and will say nothing until that ridiculous claims stops serving their purpose. They are resolve to do anything about anything only and solely when it is in their best interest.

A big question, why writtings or book?
by Crazyguy inwe often have debates on this site about what was written in the bible and why.
there are also debates about which bible is better .
then there's the debate about if the quran is really the better book or more accurate.

By putting gods words in writing does it not allow for men who can read to monipulate those that can not? So again why would god put his thoughts and wishes in a book?
For years, in fact, since I started my fade way back when, the very first thing that I questioned was the entire concept of the bible. As a JW I never understood why a god that is so capable of doing so many spectacular things would do that at the time when mankind was the most naive about the world around it.
Not only I used to question why writing a bible, but also why then and not now? And why the way the bible god used to communicate doesn't do it the same way today? Any tweet today is way more effective than any bible verse. Then that book was written in languages that were extremely limited, based on the rather naive interpretations of the world that humans had back then, and then, like that's not enough, it gets written in the form of visions, parables, symbolisms, dreams and prophecies.
The entire concept of the bible makes absolutely no sense, especially if it's true that it contains a message intended to save the most people possible. The whole thing is just ludicrous.

So, would we call the GB our Uncles, Aunts, Sisters or Cousins???
by stuckinarut2 inok, so try and follow me here.... according to jw doctrinal teachings, the gb are "christ's brothers".
humans are all "god's children".
so does that make the gb our "uncles"?.

I don't call them anything, they have no relevance in my life at all.

That was my favorite rule. I loved it. I wasn't allowed to hang out alone with any sister, but it was ok to spend as much time with the brothers. For a gay man that arrangement cannot be better.
Seriously, they are so stupid and hung up on their ridiculous homophobic ways of thinking, that they pretend that those rule are supposed to keep people from doing anything they want to do. Those rules around people and sex ar just absurd. They are super simplistic, irrelevant, stupid, and trust me, they never stopped any JW I knew from doing whatever or whoever.

Suing The Watchtower Corporation For Pain And Suffering Caused By Clandestine Trial Of Corporatly Biased Impartial Judges (A Real Ordeal)
by Brokeback Watchtower ini mean they routinely question the "invited" guest of dishonor to their proceedings: if they have any prohibited recording devices and won't allow any witnesses to be present.
this is cruelly horrible treatment of a human being,, i say this can be a slam dunk in the courts.
maybe not millions but definitely some nice returns for the person and his lawyer.

This is cruelly horrible treatment of a human being...
And yet many people think that having religious legal exceptions is ok simply because they can discriminate against any people that they don't like, without looking at what that really does.

This convention talk offended me
by Isambard Crater inhere are my notes from the r.c yesterday, the talk called "jehovah – the greatest example of endurance".
many of you will understand why i found it offensive.. jehovah has taken the hard option of choosing to endure:.
reproach to his holy name.

Nothing new, Isambard Crater. The number one thing that Christian religions do is always position themselves in a victim role. Everything bad "happens" to them. This is the simplest, oldest and most reliable way of manipulating people.
The fact that you find it offensive is a great sign of you having a better mindset and attitude. Did you look around or heard people's comments on that talk? I'm sure that 'offensive' wasn't the word that they were using to characterize it.

There is always one!
by Isambard Crater ini am pimo but attended the r.c yesterday for family pressure reasons.
a "sister" i've not seen for a while told me her husband is overjoyed because a man he called on recently in the field service suddenly told him he wanted to attend the r.c.
the unusual thing is, this man is a millionaire having built a property portfolio.

He is about 60 and his life seems sorted, so why the hell would this type of person want to go to a convention named "Don't Give Up!", which in itself sounds really creepy?
There's something in what he heard or saw that speaks to him. Whatever made them tick has nothing to do with his wealth.

JWs shunning other active JWs
by Roger Kirkpatrick inhow many others have noticed how common it is for active jws to ostracize and shun other active jws?
as far back as i can recall, jws have had an ongoing problem with cliques within congregations, and special needs talks would be given from time to time to address that trend.
but, it seems to me that the practice has become even more pronounced with entire congregations actively shunning other congregations.

That's the most off-putting thing about them, their stupid clicks. How I effing hated that attitude back then. Now it just looks pathetic and lame. The psychology of that is quite dysfunctional and petty. They just feed up of each others. They just keep sniffing each other's butts about how cool, righteous and/or happy they are (as if there's such thing as a cool JW). Sad, all they do is using each other to reinforce their covering up their real feelings.

There are only 4 ways to leave the Jehovah's Witnesses
by new boy inthere are only four ways of leaving the jehovah’s witnesses.
so there are four ways that could lead to shunning.
i say “could” because options three and four has some loopholes.
