Why would Jehovah God write the Ten Commandments on two tablets of stone ,in the first place ?
That was an important prophecy, predicting the iPad.
i mean to say he is the creator of the universe isn`t he ?
so why would he use such a method that is subject to crumbling over time ?.
i remember a jw talk/mag.

when i was a kid, i was occasionaly attend to baptism at conventions, and i remember that brothers who immerses candidates in the water, said: "right hand to nose, left hand to right hand, and i baptise you in the name of the father, son and holy spirit, amen".
i remeber that same mantra at my baptism too, back in the eighties.
but, some years ago, i was asked to help to move some props around baptism pool, so i attend to baptism after so many years - there was no "in the name of the..." part.
Never paid attention to that detail. Don't remember if anything at all was said during my baptism. However, btlc:
...he gave me look like I said something nasty, and he said: "we don't use that phrase for decades, dude..."
that's a more relevant issue to me.

after 33 years as a jw and leaving 25 years ago i think prayer can be summed up with the jews praying at the wailing wall.. all they are doing is talking to a brick wall ,and getting no feed back.
and they expect an answer to their prayers ?!.
christians /other beliefs might find that funny but they are no better off.. prayer is always a one way street you talk either vocally or mentally to god however you never get the same back .. if god " so loved the world that he doesnt want any to be destroyed but have everlasting life " then whats the problem with him audibly answering his servants prayers ?
Prayers ,are they answered ? or is it just self delusion ?
Self delusion. Don't you notice that prayers get extremely, severely conveniently answered and ignored in the most contrived of ways? That should give you a clue.
How many people are right now praying in Cuba to get saved from the Hurricane? So if they are safe, is that because the prayer was answered? And if they are not safe, why would that be?
The whole prayer thing doesn't make sense from the logical stand point. For some reason, however, it does give comfort to people. It keeps some people calmed, and makes them trusting. From that point of view, prayer gives people hope, but nothing more.
Did the org have any guidelines on shunning?
Yes, especially if there are minors involved.
If the son is d/a or d/f, are the parents supposed to disown him, chase him out of the house?
Not physically if they are minors since they could get in legal trouble for doing that. If they are not minors, many JW parents choose to kick them out of the house, but there's no written rule about it. However, if they live under their roof and are being supported by them, they should abide the rules of the home owner and the person who is providing and supporting the son/daughter. Emotionally, yes.
Also, some JW loving parents look the other way and still do the right thing and don't disown their children over some Jehovah nonsense.
For husband and wife, do they need to divorce or what?
Not necessarily, but if the d/f or d/a a person is the woman, she has to be "submissive" to her husband, and he has the opportunity to do and treat her any way he wants (or any way he can get away with legally). If the d/f or d/a person is the male, then the woman has to go through a whole load of nonsense to balance still being submissive to her husband and fulfilling the demands of the Jehovah nonsense.
I am very lucky. My parents still give me allowances when I go school. When I sick, my dad still bring me to the doctor.
You are not lucky. Your parents are legally bound to do so. That is their responsibility and duty to do. They have to do that if you are a minor under their guardianship. When you turn legally an adult, then you could say if you are in fact lucky. Also, taking care of you as a child should not be a matter of luck. All loving, responsible parents should be more than happy to support their children.
When I tell them that they are suppose to shun me, my dad told me he still need to fulfill his duty as parents.
See my comment above. I find it sad that he doesn't say that it's because he loves you and wants the best for you.
speaking from my own experience and that of my family of wife and two now adult sons do not believe that prayers to jehovah /god are answered .. so it must also be true of all other religions and their believers also.. my wife and i were jw`s for 33 years and and i don`t believe anyone prayed harder than my wife and i at various trials we faced during those times in those 33 years.. we may as well have been like the present day jews who pray to a brick wall .
No.
the authenticity of the old testament account of solomon is being called into question in the news media:.

for the most-part, i don't really want to believe the bible as true, certainly not the j.w version including their stubbornness over 607 and 1914. but there's one prophecy that always makes me stop and wonder if maybe some of the bible was inspired by god, if he or she exists.
One thing is being historically accurate, and a very different one is being "the word of God".
i did a study where i searched in the individual yearly pdf's of the golden age / consolation / awake, or i searched in the 2015 watchtower library, for the following terms:aluminum.
transfusion.
i did not discriminate between positive and negative mentions of the terms.. for "aluminum" i actually searched for "alumi" and adobe would search for words that started with that.for "vaccines" i actually searched for "vacc".
I agree with Steve2. The research can become more interesting if you search for phrases that might give more context. My guess is that the numbers will be different but the graph will look similar.
(please excuse any errors, my native language is spanish).
hi friends,.
it has been years, i beleive, since my last post.
Hola, Caballo Sentado. Me alegra mucho que las cosas anden muy bien en su familia. Yo comenze en este foro hace unos doce meses. Me alegra saber que existen padres que apoyen la educacion de sus hijos.
what is the funniest or strangest thing to happen to you or your partner when knocking on doors?.
mine was seeing a greenhouse with mannequins inside.
scary...paul.
The most bizarre preaching situation was when I went to preach, I was about 20 or 21, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, in the late 80s. I knocked on a door, and some guy I had hooked up with in the past came out. The bizarre part was not each other's shock. I handled that part really well. The bizarre part was that the "brother" that was with me, married with grown up children of my age, started flirting with him.
