JW Cartoons

i've recently watched the jw cartoons centered around teaching young kids the doctrines of this faith.

while i no longer practice any faith, i am well versed in this one.

i must say, these cartoons are in bad, bad taste.

Welcome FinalFlame. Interesting reasonings, but JWs (and other bible thumping zealots) would claim that homosexual love is not really love but an abomination.
Its much easier to take a step back, look at the universe and human nature and say "Yh, there probably is no God" and just love who you love and be nice to people.
Taking the bible and watering down its gay bashing, misogynistic, slavery condoning genocidal, rape approving, infantcidal message is just pointless.

many people like to boast about “jehovah being loving and impartial toward all”.

there are even scriptures that say words to that effect.. however, if we look at just his actual conduct and actions , and not accept the words supposedly written by his apologetic “bible writers”, the facts tell us something else!.

firstly, he chose one special nation and race of people.

I've shared many times my interpretation of the Bible's jehovah. If a person behaved the way Jehovah does, that person would be diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic with narcissistic personality disorder and who knows what kind of other co-morbid conditions.

Just look at the behavior of that "god", how hypocritical, stupid, violent and capricious he is.

The bible jehovah reminds me or Roger from American Dad.

Another enlightening reason why I don't go to meetings

i was informed by my jw father tonight that the reason i don't go to meetings is because "of a guilty conscious".

i just done an eye roll and walked away.

just had to share... a former friend of my wife's, has just left our house, unbeknown to us, her and her husband have been inactive for about a year and a half, they have pre teen boys too.

she reached out to my wife as she had heard that we were apostates etc and needed someone to talk to.. .

after her father dying she was in a bad place mentally and emotionally and reached out to her cong for support, apon receiving 0 she turned to the bible for comfort only in her raw emotional state to realize that jehovah was a murderous unfair god and then her wheels of rational reasoning started turning.. she questioned things and was outspoken about things and attracted elder attention... long story short she wanted to connect with a friendly ear and she splurged she's never going back, the bible is all bulls**t and it's a cult, despite not knowing most of ttatt we all shared experiences and watched her eyes boggle at (stuckinarut... the first euphoric high) the un scandal, beth sarim, ray franz, 607, arc.

Sorry for her loss. It's really heart breaking that people have to go through this type of unsavory situation to have a rude awakening.

Good that she got to see them for how they really are instead on staying in denial. She has to be in turmoil as her world is changing drastically. Great that she was able to find really decent people.

FinalFlame, you are nobody to tell who is a "sinner" or what the Bible is or isn't, or whatever some people do or say is supposed to be judged by "god" one way or another.

You mention very little about yourself, so I have a few questions:

Were you ever a JW? You mention that you no longer practice any faith, and that you are well versed in the JW faith, how? Specifics please. That matters because it goes to your credibility, and your real reason to be here.
Why are you posting here? This is a place for ex-JWs and for people who are in different stages of detachment from that organization? Why do you feel the need to make that particular point here? Speaking of the point...
Of all the nonsense that the WT teaches, why do you choose to discuss homosexuality? What entitles you to decide what gay people should be/are, or what "god's" stance is on the very same people he created (according to the same Christian rationale)?
What makes you "extreme positive" that "god" doesn't approve "the act of being homosexual"? BTW, what exactly constitutes the "act" of "being" homosexual? Aren't you contradicting yourself there a little?

I'm sure that in your lame attempt at proselytizing you seem to think that you are sending a message of love. How about leave gay people along, stop trying to shame them for who they are, mind your own darn business, and if you disagree with what the WT has to say, simply do so without preaching and talking about gay people being sinners?

Withdrawing community support in the congs

i've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.

counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.

if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

If you ask me, that's never been there. The JWs I knew never were there for me or my family. They were constantly getting into each other's business to tell on others or to talk shit among themselves.

I know that's not the case with all JWs, but it doesn't surprise me that their quality of Christian values is diminishing. They have larger problems to deal with.

Why NO bibles??

i know we have all said it before, but it simply blows my mind that the jws doing cart work do not have bibles on the cart to give out to interested ones!.

how can they say they are "bible students" trying to share the "bibles message" and not give out bibles!?.

other christian groups take the commission to share the bible seriously!

If that doesn't scream "CULT" then nothing does...

Don't know about that being evidence of them being a cult, but to be honest, that's one of the things that I point about myself as a JW. I started preaching when I was 4, and stopped when I was 23. Never, not once did I hand a bible to a person. Not once. I gave a lot of the WT literature, but not one single bible, ever.
