although there are many elders in each congregation, was there a particular one that always seemed to be after you, criticizing that you missed meetings, or always knocking at your door to bring you back to the hall?
in my case, it always seems to be the same elder that comes over every year to try to bring me back.
he isn't the head elder, so why is he always the one pesting me?.
Oh, sure was!! First they came after me, and when that didn't work, they hounded everyone who spoke to me. That was back in my angry days, and it was a big mistake on their part, because I went after THEM, one by one. Long story. They soon figured out that I had all their numbers. I just don't bother with them anymore, and they leave me alone too. Felt pretty good to show them their own flaws and imperfections. Bunch of hypocrites!

i have only been visiting this board for a couple months, but wow, how it has helped me!
thanks to everyone who has shared information and their stories, given advice, listened, reasoned, confessed, vented, cussed, challenged and supported.
i am formerly known as "hunyadi", but i made the decision to come out a few weeks ago.
Awesome!! I'm so glad for you! I have remained anonymous because most of my family is still stuck in the quagmire of "troof", but as time goes on, I am seriously reconsidering that position. If it isn't helping, what's the point? No one bothers me anymore. No visits from the "elders", no preaching...they don't even knock on my door anymore with their magazines. I want my family out! Now how will I ever accomplish that? I rarely even hear from them anymore. They told me 30 years ago that I am dead, altho they don't mind digging up my old bones once in a while to see how I am I'm sure they must be confused when I am very healthy and happy out here without them! . Maybe it's time to shake things up a bit!

I had the hardest time getting over my fear of demons We were told to fear Jehovah, but taught to fear demons. Like any phobia, it wasn't easy to conquer. Having learned the difference between fear and fear (if you catch my drift) I now don't expect demons to lurk everywhere, and have discovered instead that serendipities are everywhere.

well, it is fricken amazing.... the reason she sent it is 'cause i asked for a minute demo to use for another top secret project i'm working on with an american author.
well, she thought my idea was just great so she sent me the whole tape.

Having one of those days myself. I've been out for 30 years, so I don't think of them as often as I used to, but things happen, and it all comes crashing down again. Sometimes I just want my mom to love me...even for a little while...

I mean, can you imagine a March 2016 Watchtower with a 'THE END IS NEAR' cover story, with the accompanying doom-n-gloom articles? How will the current 30 and 40 something JW's feel about offering that stuff door to door in the year 2017? or 2025?
I reckon they'll feel the same way as the ones who sent in $$$ to help build Beth Seran <sp> so that Abraham Issac & Jacob would have a place to live when they were ressurected in 1925. They're still there, and still in denial about 1975 too.

i believe that a ufo did in fact, crash there in 1947 and that there was a cover up.. if it were proven that it was a ufo, how would that affect our society, religion in particular?.
Larc....Not to burst yer bubble...my mind is NOT made up. I am a skeptic if you go by the definition of "one who with holds judgement'. But, on the other hand, I am interested enough to have an open mind, and not to be so arrogant as to think that humans are the ultimate civilization, with the most advanced technology in the universe. Just because WE couldn't travel such vast distances (yet) doesn't mean someone else couldn't. Sometimes skeptics can be a wee bit small minded with their assumptions, dontcha think?.....Just something I find I have to guard against myself.
