  when the crime of child molestation occurs within the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, organizational policies punish the victim and protect the accuser.

  jehovahs witnesses require a victim of molestation to produce two credible witnesses to support his/her claim, when, in fact, rarely is there ever more than one witness to this type of crime.. in light of recent allegations against the catholic church, individual elders, in charge of administering the organization at the local, or congregation level, have been admonished in a recent organizational letter to contact their regional headquarters legal department upon becoming aware of evidence of child abuse, rather than contacting the local authorities.. the witnesses stress in their door-to-door work how different their religion is from all the others, on the pretext that they are right, and everyone else is wrong.

  how will local "elders" accused of child molestation react?
