Capitalizing names

just a random thought here but does anyone else notice than when the name "elder" or "circuit overseer" appears in the organization's magazines and books they're always lower case even though they're proper nouns and should be elder and circuit overseer... but branch committee member, governing body helper, governing body member, they get to be capitalized.

another subtle indication of how the governing body and other high-ranking elites see themselves, i think.

You are right I had noticed this too. Specifically the change in one article from lower case to upper case.Its in the watchtower 2017 february page 22 where it discusses who is leading the Jdubs .

2nd Update/Scary Experience

glad to say just got the news that the man who was arrested on suspicion about the dead bodies has been convicted of those two murders.

his accomplice is on the run, search going on for him.

there are talks about raising more awareness in the country park area now.. this news helps us to breath a little easy now.. thank you all for your support.. peace..

These days it not really that hard being a witness.

if you are a true believer, then you are toast.

because you will be a slave to everything the watchtower, circuit overseers, elders, pioneers, imply.

believe me, there are not many true believers anymore, and the majority of them are old.

I remember once when I had to go in for surgery. I am a very private person and reserved too . I do not tell anyone anything whether it be surgery, health issues, holidays, work problems etc. So did not tell anyone but unfortuantely the cong was having a send-off for someone and we had to let one elder know that we wont be there .He pried and we had to mention my surgery. Immediately he wanted to help with the HLC.We refused coz we would not need it, ad that we had already met with the docs, shared ou rbeliefs plus the surgery would not require anything to do with blood. He was a little suspicious that we were like cutting them off completely and did not like it at all.

We did not lie, blood would not be an issue unless the doctor made a huge mistake,and cut a major artery ! so no point in considering this at all, it was a very minor surgery in the mouth (ha, ha,)

My point being we cut them off. Other times I have had surgery , never told a soul. So no queries , no interference, no visits , no drama;(no blood issue anyway) We did it our way.

Not that I fear them but that I am a private person, so people need to respect boundaries.

There was a time when I had to reluctantly phone in for meetings, I would simply connect leave the phone on the table and do my ownthing like make breakfast, have it, get ready to go for walks or get my bycycle prepped up for cycling and all. I had to pretend but I did it my way.

Giordano I am so glad that you all came out of it alive and wiser. I hope we can too. This world is full of scary people who do crazy things..I know we do do some stupid things which puts us in dodgy , risky places or circumstances But there are a few good people who make life so refreshing and worth living..My friends and I have had some really nice experiences too which keeps our belief in a few good humans alive.

Let me share you what happened once: This will make you laugh.once we were out walking , four o fus. It was a wooded area quiet nice and many were cycling there, very few walking. After walking through a tunnel like place (30 yars or so ,we came upon a clearing. As we appeared ,there was clapping and an airhorn heard. We saw a group of man , women sitting, some standing with smiles on their faces.then A guy and lady came up to us and said you are the 100th group(counting heads) who has come through there since this morning.

We were a little confused no doubt many must come here specially through that tunnel like place.its a wooded walking park! But no we were told not many go through the tunnel like place, most people go the other way, its easier for cyclists and that very few walk here. They had a bet of $50 if a 100 make it through there.

We were all given a bottle of red wine as a gift for being the 100th. Made some wonderful friends there and still go out with them on hikes etc.

Life teaches us lessons all the while.

Thank you so much Giordano for reaching out and sharing this with me. This I would say helps me to prepare what I may feel and act like coz of this experience . As you say nothing is really the same anymore . We all have changed in some way.

I have had quite a few creepy, risky experiences in my life but none this dangerous where people had knives on them and probably looking for trouble.

Appreciate you taking time to share this.
