  two people can behold the same situation and conclude totally different things from their observations.

  the pharisees saw jesus performing miracles and thought that he was empowered by beelzebub.

  others watched the same thaumaturgic wonders and praised jesus as the son of god.

  "Hypocrytes make one fatal flaw. They become fundamentalist in their thinking. They think that because the word "trinity" does not occur in the bible, then God does not have a holy trinity. As one bible scholar once said, the word "love" does not appear in Hosea. But that book highlights God's love more than any other book in the bible. The word trinity does not have to appear in the bible. The concept may and does appear."

  :: Does he have amnesia? Are family was Told NOT to contact the authorties, not to bring reproach on JW's name or his earthly organization that Jehovah would take care of it within in.

  Herein lies the problem. The 'official stated policy' says X,Y,Z. Anyone who deviates from that policy is not doing what they are supposed to be doing according to headquarters. Yet, the exact opposite of this 'policy' is encouraged verbally in the congregations from the top of the ladder, so that when the heat comes down, it only falls on the local elders, if anywhere at all.

  This is why JR Brown was sent on a PR tape to dateline instead of interviewing on-camera. The WT/CCJW's knew that he would not have the time to consult lawyers and determine the proper 'neutral' way to react to the questions posed, so they instead fed dateline 'official stated policy' that their lawyers were already prepared to defend in any court of law.

  "believe me, you didn't get the whole story on dateline.

  i don't know any of the people involved who were interviewed, but some of the things that were said, at least by the reporter, did not ring true.

  that's just how the entertainment news works, always go for the most sensational.. also, there was no mention that 77,000 elders didn't report pedophilia.

  Ah, so, something just does not "ring true". Would that be because the witnesses were put into a bad light? Of course. Had the reporter said something good about the witnesses, we would have heard either no gripe, or at most what a fine example a journalism the piece was. Typical fundy with an axe to grind at the media.

  as of 1 pm today barb anderson was notified that she has been disfellowshipped in writing by the judicial committee in her congregation.

  barb was df in absentia at a second hearing that was declared after she successfully defended herself against charges in the first hearing.

  home office came back with further instructions to make it stick the second time around.

  What is REALLY going to SUCK is if dateline doesn't mention that most of the participants in the segment were excommunicated from the 'church' and some of these witnesses watching actually believe that 'they will help this sister in her time of need'.

  I know of one witness over here who will NOT watch the show for fear of someone in his cong finding out he watched apostate propoganda.

  These 36,638 may or may not be of those "who have been prominent in Jehovah's organization" who succomed to child molesting among other things. Besides, even if the greater number of the other 36,638 were DF'd for practicing immorality, it doesn't say they were DF'd only for child molestation. The actual fraction they speak of could be much lower.

  It is a very cleverly worded statement though. I made the mental mistake of linking 36,638 to CHILD MOLESTERS, which is inappropriate due to the wording of the paragraph.

  I find it no coincidence that 'accuracy' has posted the above quote, with intentions no doubt less than honorable.

  the fact is that all of us became jehovahs witnesses despite the fact that the wtbts has always had a pretty shady past that included false prophesies, questionable behavior by its leaders, twisted scriptures and the like.

  i could, of course, be wrong but it seems to me that in spite of everything that is happening at this time, there are still needy people who will accept the crap they expound and join the organization.

  it will continue to grow and prosper.

  accuracy, in an attempt to cloud the issues stated:

  :: One person's "crap" is another person's fertilizer. Getting rid of Jehovah's Witnesses will not get rid of pedophilia, the two should not be linked. No sane or moral person approves of pedophilia, including, as an organization, Jehovah's Witnesses.

  Nobody said getting rid of JWs would remove pedophilia. The issue is indeed 'linked' because the POLICIES as set forth by the GB of JWs provide a haven for those who take advantage of it. Of course no sane or moral person approves of pedophilia. And it doesn't matter whether or not the 'organization' of Jehovah's Witnesses approves of it or not. It's policies regarding pedophiles indirectly protect the one committing the crime. Therefore those policies should change. If the policy makers refuse to change after being made aware of these things, one can only assume that they do not have the victims' best interest at heart, and therefore, they should be removed and replaced with ones who haven't forgotten that an organization is only as good as it's members.
