His video is on jw.borg (scroll to the bottom and click on "videos"). It's the latest one. Look now before they pull it! Hope someone downloads it for youtube. Not even my most PIMI family members would agree to have "absolute trust" in the GB (gangrenous body).

Amazing new light in the latest morning worship by Gary Breaux. The GB "never lie or deceive us. We can have absolute trust in the Governing Body".
He then makes a very helpful point, so as to avoid being deceived and avoid lies. "Look for the zero, any component in a statement or teaching that cancels out a bible truth".
How about this one:
Psalm 146.3
"Do not put your trust in princes
Nor in a son of man, who cannot bring salvation".
Thanks Gary, you just helped 8 million people see that the GB lie and are not to be trusted. Great talk!

Inaccuracies regarding pagan origins
by AEnEm ineaster and christmas have pagan origins.
many of us were told that since birth.
the evidence?

Easter and Christmas have pagan origins. Many of us were told that since birth. The evidence? Snippets of quotes printed in the WT, from the Encyclopeadia Britannica (EB) and other unknown sources.
The front page of the jw website currently quotes from the EB suggesting that the name Easter comes from the goddess Eostre (according to Venerable Bede). It then quotes an unidentified source suggesting an alternative "pagan" origin linked to Astarte.
A quick online search identifies this second source as Alexander Hislop, in his book "The Two Babylons", and that his ideas are not supported by the majority of scholars.
The JW article then goes on to say that customs around Easter are pagan too.
If you take the time to read the EB quote, the article goes on to say that the idea that Easter and Christmas is pagan is a "dubious presumption".
Regarding the name Easter it states:
"There is now widespread consensus that the word derives from the Christian designation of Easter week as in albis, a Latin phrase that was understood as the plural of alba (“dawn”) and became eostarum in Old High German, the precursor of the modern German and English term."
So is Easter pagan? I don't know (some sources do say that), but I do know that to suggest the EB supports that view is wrong and seemingly dishonest.
Note to WT writers: please remove this misquote

Plagiarism at Gilead; an admission that shunning is cruel
by AEnEm inin the latest gilead graduation video, at around 1 hour, 2 minutes and 30 seconds, the speaker says that "being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person they are almost indistinguishable".. nice.
shame he doesn't quote the source (doesn't even say the wt phrase "it was once said").
a quick google attributes it to david w. ausburger in his book "caring enough to be heard: how to hear and how to be heard in equal communication".. the funny thing is that this flies in the face of shunning.

The funny thing is that this flies in the face of shunning. Shunning is a "cruel and unusual punishment", precisely for this reason. How can refusing to speak with someone (or listen to them) be equated with love if this statement is true?!

UK Hospital using Kingdom Melodies - complaint
by AEnEm ini found out that a uk hospital (nnuh) uses kingdom melodies as hold music, apparently for some years!
i called and heard it myself.
i wrote an email to the complaints team and await a response.

Thanks Mark for sharing that link.
Please consider visiting the page as this will help pull it up the rankings to the front page of the newspaper.
I have let the newspaper know about the specific song they mention as being used (song 60 - "It means their life"). According to the song, God is angry and very soon his day will come. JWs must preach to save their own lives. Salvation depends on "obeying" the message they proclaim. Nice song for a hospital to use!?

Thanks Lee, I am sure you are right. That's why I asked the follow up question, although I doubt they will respond. Would be interesting if they acknowledged any of the other issues, other than simply copyright. I have written to the local (regional) newspaper too but they didn't respond.

BTW they replied to say:
"Thank you for your email. I can confirm that Communications have taken steps to change the music to Mozart."
I wrote back:
"Thanks for your email and for changing the music.
May I ask which, if any, of the 4 reasons I listed were the reason for the change. I appreciate you may not be able to share this information, but I am interested to know if possible."

"Thank you for your email, I have registered your comments on our reporting system and forwarded your concerns to our Communications team as feedback to look into and take appropriate action.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with the team."

GB voice of Jesus....
by enoughisenough ina short sweet video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ekihoczyfg she put a link to the whole video if you care to watch.
here is the thing that came to my mind: by isolating just that part, the part sounds rather hubris, shocking, audacious.
when the jw hear it couched in a talk and woven in with scriptures, they will take it in without giving a real thought as to what is really being said..

This very odd expression has actually made some start to think. I have heard family members and congregation members mention it in a faintly negative way - testing the waters with me and others to see if they thought it was odd too. Yes - it's blasphemy, idolatry, stupidity, insanity etc. depending on your point of view/belief system!
Another nail in the coffin. Keep it up guys!
