Location: United States of America Biography: I was BORN!, yes born a Dub. They don't like to use that pharse any more but tough. I'll keep my age to myself. But I was in the F Troop for more then twenty years. An elders daughter but was still considered spiritually weak by many of my fellow congerts. Which was kinda funny because thats pretty much what I thought of most of them. After knowing well over a thousand or so people during my life as a Dub I can remember those who were probably truly spiritual people and real Christians. Many of my friends were disfellowshiped and we lost touch over the years.I got tired of looking up people's nostrials so I dissasociated and went into hiding for long time. In 2011, would a large percentage leave the church and stop believing in the Trinity? Or would they just fire Jan and Paul?
What effect would this have on the Trinity Broadcasting Network?
Jan and Paul are basically the GB of that religion.
I have been trying to picture in my mind how different religious organizations would react given the same circumstances.
Replacing the GB with Paul and Jan or even the Pope.
Well, with the Pope they could easily just say hes gone off the deep end and put him to bed but what if his replacement did it?
Would the Catholic Church crumble and everyone stop believing and loose faith or would they just keep the faith and stop listening to the POPE?

Anyone ever rub elbows with a Celebrity?
by RubyTuesday inwhen i was in the sixth grade in roswell n.m. i met this girl whos father had recently died.my father had also passed away recently.we were both very shy and haveing the lose of our fathers in common we stuck together that year.we never did anything outside of school however, not sure why,she never invited me over and now i think it was because of her horrible home life.but we ate lunch together everyday and chated in a class we shared.i never saw her again until..... when i was in my 20's my cousins wife told me that my friend demetria guynes was....... drum roll..plz.

1975---- DID IT REALLY BOTHER YOU?

obviously, some left the organization when nothing happened in 1975. were you personally affected by 1975?
has the fixing of dates been a major reason for your disappointment with the witnesses?

I had married an unbeliever when 1975 rolled around and was not attending meetings. Let me tell you, I got scared every time there was a thunderstorm. I was glad when that year passed. Sounds silly, huh?
No that doesnt sound silly at all.
Even though I did not believe a month day or year could possibly be predicted, and I always believed it was wrong to attempt to do so, I would get those frightening feelings every time there was an earth quake or something horrible happening anywhere in the world/wars breaking out etc I would wonder if this was the beginning of the end.

is that a conspiracy theory perhaps? Are there more members today then there were in 1974? I would think so. Even if a large percentage left after 1975.

A Little Greek is a Dangerous Thing

you know what i mean - a guy who's had no formal training in biblical greek who keeps digging up "treasures from the original".
i gave a couple of examples in the greek synonyms thread.. i once had an argument (by mail) with a christadelphian who was arguing that the use of the middle voice in a verse in hebrews meant that jesus had to die for his own salvation, not that of anyone else!
