what i mean by the title of this thread is what has happened to a relative of mine, one who is really upset about this factor:.
this relative is a distant cousin on my mother's side of the family.
she studied as a child and got baptized at 14 1/2 years old.
I remember a circuit assembly in the 90's were the CO told complaining jw's about Jobs and retirement, they have to shut up. "It was you who made the choice", hé told the audience whit a cold and hard voice.
I was POMI then. My father always told me to get a good job and not to trust the end time doctrine. Our family was investing and buying property arround 1975, even from witness, who sold it because of the time of the end.

i dread coming to the weekly sunday public talk and watchtower study.
the talks are ''repeats'' of a ''repeat.
In 2008 I could no longer attend the meetings, because my brains got hurt. All the bias, rules and made uo history, I could no longer accept.
Since 1995 generation change I became PIMO.
Now with wife and children save, faded and off the jw radar since we moved to another city.
JW family still have contact, they avoid the elephant in the room.

the brother went into scenarios about his family, complete with tears.
i question getting that emotional every time he gives this talk.

at sydney service.. from richard yallop in melbourne.. one man was killed and 70 people were taken to hospital after a bomb exploded yesterday during a jehovah's witnesses service in a kingdom hall in the sydney suburb of lurnea.. the explosion occurred close to the speaker's dais just as mr. david winder, a visiting elder from the sydney suburb of prospect, had begun his address on loyalty to god and the family.
I remember it well, on Dutch TV news, and it conflicted with my "Jehovah protected his people" conviction.
