  Can you openly express doubts in the congregation these days?

  i know of a lovely old sister who has been a jw for several decades now who openly expresses doubts about jw interpretations.. she does it in such a lovely way and everyone loves her.

  she is such a sweet old soul, makes everyone happy around her.. she has said things like- even if we have got it wrong about this and that i still believe the bible is gods word”.

  she answers up regularly and she goes on ministry groups but like most of us she is definitely jwlite, we don’t really do door to door work anymore.

  It depends. I remember the same, old lovely sisters can say a lot more.

  Has to do with the role someone has in the congregation.

  Older sisters are no risk for the elders. They are loyal but with a distance. With a laugh the critic is done away.

  Waiting On Jehovah First Mentioned?

  yes, waiting on jehovah for him to handle a problem/ doctrine etc.. when did the jw's first start saying that?

  they've been saying it as long as i can remember.. what scriptures do they trot out to back that teaching up?

  It's a sect phrase. Just like "trust the brothers", "the organization says" and "we don't miss birthdays because we have every day a special day".

  It's sad and i'm glad we left.

  i wonder how many witnesses are aware that the wt and their team of lawyers are currently suing the government of norway for millions of dollars?

  i thought that the wt taught that all the governments were run by satan.

  when i was a witness, this would have really bothered me.

  Jw.org has their own law firm, W. Glen How & Associates. So they make money with their own law cases because the rank and file donates for the cost and it ends in the bucket of a Watchtower owned lawn firm.

  In the Netherlands we say then "Je ziet het pas als je het door hebt".

  i wonder how many witnesses are aware that the wt and their team of lawyers are currently suing the government of norway for millions of dollars?

  i thought that the wt taught that all the governments were run by satan.

  when i was a witness, this would have really bothered me.
