  The August Study Watchtower: what is the big deal?

  i have been following a number of posts discussing the august watchtower study magazine.

  i really don't believe this common idea being passed around that it's being timed for the annual meeting.

  here's why.. the august watchtower will be available on servers not long before its public release.

  Thanks. Can you imagine a study Watchtower article like this has not pass through the highest level before the editing proces starts? Articles are written a year ahead.

  the upcoming governing body update, set to be released on friday this week, will feature a bearded samuel herd.. jwtalk website revealed the leak, so this thread will be used to speculate the content of the update and discuss the actual contents after its release..

  Retirement Planning for ex-JW's

  this is something i think about a lot, possibly because i'm just getting older.

  it seems that not only should i finally one day decide what i want to do with my life, but i should also be planning for retirement.. hands up everyone who feels their future has been royally screwed by the wts experience?.

  if you were a good jw and followed the wts advice you could well be finding yourself facing middle or even old age without much or anything put aside in retirement savings.

  Generation Alpha

  being generation x myself, with 2 teenagers in generation alpha, i see a lot difference between generations.. generation alpha has totaly different views.

  my first reaction at home about the current conflict between gaza and israel made this clear.. what an automatic reaction is for a generation x is a disaster for generation a.. result was my first shock about myself, generation x. do i see the global and local issues still clear?!?

  why became my teenagers so wise persons with a more balanced world view?

  The Kids are not initial choosing the side of Israël, like me (50+ white male western world generation of 1970).

  The Kids are thinking first before speaking out and don't like the hard way agains Gaza women end children.

  Result was my first shock about myself, generation X. Do I see the global and local issues still clear?!? Why became my teenagers so wise persons with a more balanced world view? (A non JW upbringing... proud of it leading to be wise guys).

  So reading a lot now about the different generations.
