Jw.org had a small office in China for buying parts and furniture when building their new head offices.
I have proof of that somewere on an old hard disk.

not because they haven't been witnessed to but who is going to manufacture all the stuff for the survivors?
textiles and clothing, building materials, electrical components, air-conditioner for those living in the tropics and spacer heaters for those living in colder climes.
not to mention video equipment and computer tablets so that the survivors can watch the gb updates (though may they've gone to heaven but i'm sure there'll be plenty of the 'gb helpers', the next rank down, left).

study article 21. how jehovah answers our prayers.
14 a sister named soo hing felt that jehovah helped her by means of her doctor.
What can I say? WT study, a waste of time.

the so called apostates of first century later became the catholic church.
these apostates like saint athanasius, theologian, ecclesiastical statesman, and egyptian national leader decided which books would be part of the bible.
we are now following what they decided.
Interesting!

this made me chuckle.
a new song that they are encouraged to practice for the convention.. “ we know your day will come, sure as the rising sun.
no matter how long it takes , it will not be late” …………... it is based on habakkuk 2 , we discussed this in depth around 1973/1974.
If my daughter of 13 years old says "no matter how long it takes, I will not be late"... 😎

yesterday, my dad told me an older sister passed away.
she wasn't too old (in her 60s), but i knew her 30 years ago and haven't seen her in 15 years; the main reason being that i faded 10 years ago.. yesterday, i seriously considered attending the funeral and catch-up with old jws i used to know.
after thinking it over, i decided against it.
I went recently to a funeral of an old JW friend. It was a good experience. Elders stayed away from me, but many conversations with old friends.

jehovah has to kill 9 billion humans in the big a. does anyone remember any talks on the actual logistics of "day 2"?
with no infrastructure it sounds like gb style madmax..
The birds, wasn't it??

for newbies, who was carl olof jonsson?
he was a jw in sweden who was challenged by a householder in the 1960s, who pointed out to him that secular history books don’t agree with watchtower that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, but instead place the event 20 years later.
the reason the date is important is because it is the starting date for jw chronology which leads to 1914 as the end of the gentile times, and the beginning of the last days, as jws understand it.
It is not about the details, but the fact that COJ had a mindset of his own, and spoke out against an awfull system. That's what I respect so much.

So much respect for Carl Olof Jonsson. This is not the time for critisism.
Rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏

i received an email with the following information that is worth sharing.. the 2011 yearbook goes to great lengths to elevate the truthfulness of watchtower information in even minor details, and criticise information from other sources.
so it is telling that the 2010 "jehovah's witnesses - faith in action, part 1" has omitted an important element of their history when re-enacting the 1922 cedar point convention.. under the heading "tracing all things with accuracy" the 2011 yearbook states: .
"jesus said that the faithful slave would be discreet in giving the domestics "their food at the proper time.
Watchtower history is total fake.
It's a shame.

i can't remember if i've told this story before .... but back in the day, in irlam congregation (northwest england, uk, cheshire #1 circuit i think) we used to rent a kingdom hall for many years before we eventually built our own.. preston hall.
ah, the memories .... it was primarily used as a community hall for old folks, but we had it friday night and sunday morning.. there was a loft and fold-out ladder and we used to store the chairs up their.
every meeting, there would be an assembly line of all the "lads" to pass the chairs down and set them up, then collect them up and pass them back up at the end of the meeting.
Same here, in the 70's we had a rent hall from Odd Fellows with christmas tree.
