“White Privilege”
by minimus inlately that’s all i’ve been hearing about!
i’m sick and tired of listening to white people begging for forgiveness simply because they are white.
in a nearby town, a six year old girl asked her mom, “ why don’t we have a black lives matter march here?

Where did I say it was OK to group white people together? Now you're just making stuff up. -

Simon- Yet black people can tell white people what we think and feel and how privileged everyone is? So likewise, the height of ignorance and arrogance.
Who created the white privilege narrative and constantly blasts it in the media and indoctrinates kids in universities? That would be white people. Who made the affirmative action laws? White people. Who ended slavery? White people. Who integrated schools? White people. Who decided to let black people play baseball? White people. Who passed the Civil Rights Act to end Jim Crow? White people. Black people have never been able to force white people to do anything. The White media goes and finds a couple of black people who support the narrative they're pushing and like magic you think they speak for all black people. I can tell that the people on here making the most ridiculous statements are not close friends with any Black Americans and get all their "knowledge" of black people from the media. Black people have as many diverse opinions on America and politics as anyone else.

ExJws Should Know Better Than To Just Accept Things And Follow The Leader
by minimus ini would think that exjws would exercise more critical thinking than not.
now we are thrust in this “ world” and take sides on social issues and politics.. just because our government leaders say something it doesn’t mean it’s right.
just because the majority of the news media tells us how we should think, it doesn’t mean we have to follow.

it also means you should challenge your own ideas. if all you seek is information to confirm your beliefs, then you're not a critical thinker. If you think your side is right about everything and everyone else is wrong, then you are not a critical thinker.

I love all the white people on here speaking on how black people raise their kids. The height of ignorance and arrogance.

ironically the people talking the most about victim mentality are doing the most whining and blaming other people for their arrests and not making 100k/year. Life ain't fair. Winners don't make excuses.

you obviously don't know any actual black people. Nobody black under age 60 cares about this clown. He's an old has been. Whenever somebody starts ranting about Jesse Jackson or Al, I know they're either old or the only thing they know about black people is from TV. He's an old Rev. Most young people don't even go to church anymore. most young black people don't watch msnbc or cnn either.

Black Lives Matter—Do You Agree With Their Philosophy?
by minimus ini agree with people who say all lives matter.
i think blm is a racist group.
if white people pushed an agenda saying white lives matter, some people would have a conniption..

Just like JWs will never admit they're a cult, racists will never admit that they're racist. They claim the black community is rotten to the core and as a whole condones violence and that BLM speaks all black people. if this is the case then The white community is morally bankrupt for bombing churches of innocent black people and allowing killers to escape justice. White doctors experimented on black people without consent. The governor of a state (who you could say represents the community) literally stood in front of a school to stop black people from enrolling. The police set dogs and fire hoses on peaceful marches and hospitals refused to treat them. Black people were killed just for helping others register to vote. Even worse there are pictures of entire communities viewing the lynchings of black men. So using this logic the white community is all racist and condones racism and the slaughter of innocents. But on this board a few black people who commit crimes means black culture bad. So if black culture is bad, so is white culture. For the record i don't think most white people are racist or that police are "hunting down" black men. I'm a black conservative and I believe there are black people who need to make better choices and quit making excuses. However, every black person I know personally, including democrats, think the looting is stupid. Since you guys don't actually seem to know any black people, you don't see the many black people who have condemned the violence and called looters animals. The media doesn't cover them though because it doesn't fit the narrative. Really you are just being played by the media, who are trying to drive division. Some people on here need to admit that they have racist views, and the media is exploiting your biases perfectly.

I love the people on here who are using affirmative action laws, (that I don't agree with btw), that were created by white politicians to justify their hatred of black people. This one guy wants a break for pretty crimes, and I agree he should catch a break for youthful mistakes, but at the same time we know that black men don't generally get those breaks. Smoking weed is a college tradition, being a stoner is a joke. But black men have gotten long sentences just for having weed and some people use smoking weed to justify the deaths of black men. Mafia movies romanticize organized crime that costs citizens billions of dollars through corruption and Mob bosses are seen as cool. But black people are seen as dangerous thugs while committing relatively petty crimes like using a counterfeit bill.

“I’m young and healthy so coronavirus won’t affect me” (why we need to stop this disease at ALL costs!)
by slimboyfat ineven if you are young and heathy there are very good reasons to fear this disease and take drastic actions to avoid it individually, and halt it together as communities.
not only would it be traumatic as a society to lose so many old and unwell family members and friends, but survivors of the disease may suffer significant health problems in the future.
survivors of the first sars virus in 2003 have suffered significant lung problems.

Professor Piot was not saying that COVID-19 was worse than Ebola, just that it is easier to transmit. If he had to choose which virus to acquire I'm sure he would prefer COVID with an average death rate of 1% vs 50% for Ebola. There's a chance this coronavirus could become endemic and haunt us forever. There's reason to fear Ebola, when you death is a coin flip, but fear of COVID is unwarranted though strong precautions to protect public health are necessary. I am a nurse in the US, so I've taken courses in microbiology and public health. Do not be shocked if you do get it, but it is hardly a death sentence.

Can someone please dig up the h1n1 threads from a decade ago? It was supposed to be a catastrophe on par with the Spanish influenza of 1918, until it wasn't. We have no idea how bad this is gonna be. It could fizzle out, or it could get worse. Nobody is saying don't take precautions, but there is no reason to be afraid. If you do happen to catch it, it's unlikely it will even be the sickest you've ever been, that's why many people are walking around infected and don't know it. It's not Ebola. Anyways, be safe, take precautions, but there's no need to be afraid.
