So... Are they done printing the number of partakers?
by thedepressedsoul induring the wt study yesterday i had a confused look on my face the whole meeting.
more of a, wtf, face.
one paragraph says, "therefore, the number of partakers does not accurately indicate the number of anointed ones left on earth.".

The reason why they've printed the number of "annointed" is because it used to be an indication of how close we were to "the end".The fewer annointed remmant the closer we were to the "great tribulation" but now with the number going up the last few years it doesn't fit their agenda. -

I remember your husband's OP. It was heartbreaking. I'm so happy to hear that you're now awake, it's so much easier to get out when you have someone by your side. Thanks for sharing the good news and the great tips. -

Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of this 1995 article? I would love to read it now that I'm awake. Thanks. -

I was a bright eyed 20 yr old Reg Pioneer in '95. The 1914 generation teaching was one of the biggest reasons why I started pioneering right out of HS instead of going to college. Nobody talks about it anymore, the overlapping gen teaching is an insult to our intelligence, so people don't even discuss it. This one teaching has affected the lives of millions and the WT doesn't even have the guts to own up to it and admit they got it all wrong.

Down by about 20 or so...
most of the non JWs that come are family members of JW's or former bible studies, there isn't really much new blood.

Question for those still attending the Kingdom Hall
by ToesUp inthis a question more out of curiosity, because we have not stepped foot in a kh in 3 years.. how is the attendance at the meetings/assemblies?
i know the answer will vary due to location.. are you (especially elders) receiving any notification or communication from bethel or co's that there is an upsurge of people that are simply disappearing or out right dis associating?.
thanks, in advance, for your feedback!

I started noticing, even before waking up, that baptisms at cc had declined a great deal. We used to have 25-30 per convention now is more like 6-7, and they're mostly children of Jdubs. I'm in the Spanish speaking circuit, where we had rapid growth about 15-20 years ago, not the case anymore, there has not been a new cong in our area in the last 10 years.

thank you, @Peony. :)
I feel so much better now, the FOG is mostly gone. I still struggle with the "obligation" part of it. JW life is all I've known, it's second nature to do all the JW routines.

I also have days when I feel that it might be to late to leave @Doubtfully Yours.
I started to remove the blinders only a few months ago, it all started with the ARC, after that I read COC and all the cards came down after that.
