Hi PimoJw,
I'm glad you decided to post. 15 years of lurking must be a record :)
i have been sneakily looking at this forum, almost every day, ever since it began!
it has taken me till now to actually register and contribute.
(actually i did register with a different name in the beginning but never commented).. i am a pimo elder with a fairly long history of senior "positions" in the organization.
Hi PimoJw,
I'm glad you decided to post. 15 years of lurking must be a record :)
hi everyone, i've just registered and thought i might introduce myself and tell my experience.
my name's raquel.. i was born into a jw family.
i started leading a double life around 14y/o and got caught drinking by another sister when i was 15 and saw that as my opportunity to quit the panthomime and stopped going to the meetings.
Hola Raquel,
A warm, heartfelt welcome to you...
Please stay and share ...
hi everyone i don't even know where to begin.
i recently saw leah remini's series on scientology thanks to my husband (semi-active jw) and i felt like my eyes were being opened for the 1st time in my adult life.
i felt shaken almost sick to my stomach with each episode i watched.
Hi and welcome.
You're braver than you know.
I too, am a child of the 80's. baptized at 17 in 1991
pioneered for a few years right after H.S.
the 1914 generation was the biggest sign that the end was 'just around the corner' there was no way that the system would last 10-20 more years, yeah...well ..here we are
I was feeling what you're feeling now about a year ago.
I couldn't believe what I was reading, how could I have been so blind!?
keep researching, keep using your critical thinking skills ..you will be ok
we'll be here for you to help you thru the awaking process...
it really is great.
i remember browsing this forum the day after i had joined it, and their was a knock on the door.
i thought it was one of my package from ups but instead it was two sisters.
@ A Believer,
I'm not afraid to show my face.
Your turn ...
it really is great.

@ A Believer,
You're not baptized!?
what are you waiting for?
why won't you show your face or use your real name?
are you afraid? what are you afraid of?
my sarcasm will get me df'd one day.
after being disgusted by the bs of the sunday meeting, i chatted with one inactive brother came back for that one meeting.
i can't exactly remember how it came up, but he told me and a sister whose a close friend of mine that she shouldn't be so uptight, we're no longer under the mosaic law.
@ A Believer,
I don't understand you, why do you come here knowing full well your religion does not approve of you being on an apostate website?
..........however, it seems that this practice [theocratic warfare] is seeping more and more into regular witness life.
in fact, one speech outline for the upcoming 2017 circuit assembly appears to directly encourage witnesses to lie to the general public about watchtower’s teachings on homosexuality............. http://jwsurvey.org/mind-control/upcoming-2017-jw-assembly-encourages-witness-youths-to-lie-about-homosexuality.
nb this is a month old.. if it has been previously posted and i missed it, sorry .
@StephaneLaliberte
"The reality is that thought the society has been homophobic for many years, it is taking steps to rectify the situation"
I wholeheartedly disagree with this statement. They reality is that they recognize that their stance is old fashioned and they're out of touch with reality. They're being heavily criticized by the public for their homophobic stance and they don't like it. They see others religions being more accepting of gays and that the tide has turned, they however are looking more and more outdated and hateful as time passes.
i discovered your website this morning as i was trying to find some information about 'marking'.
you see a very close friend of mine was 'marked' earlier this week and as i know the ins and outs of the situation (as we are close friends) i disregarded the talk immediately as i know my friend is obviously having issues but is no way a 'danger' to anybody else's spiritual health.
basically they are dating a non-believer- hence the talk.
Hi Danni,
welcome, the sad fact is you can be marked for just being on this site. Think about that. Visit jwfacts.com and all your questions will be answered. You sound like a caring friend, your friend is lucky to have you on their side, but the JWs will change you to the core without you realizing it.
in the congregation that i grew up in there were about 30 children under 16 (myself included).
as time went on they one by one slipped away from the meetings and most never got baptized.
of those 30 children only myself and two other girls stayed and got baptized.
@pale.emperor
May I ask, what area this is happening in?
I go to a Spanish Speaking congregation and I also see this happening.
enric hernàndez (@enric_hernandez), director of el periódico (www.periodico.es) has written an editorial this morning.
very interesting !!.
link to editorial in spanish.
Excellent article. Thank you for being brave and exposing them for what they are. Me alegra mucho que se este dando atención a esto en español, necesitamos mas articulos de esta indole para quitar la venda a los hispano hablantes, que son el grupo que mas esta comprando la basura que la WT vende.
