When I was newly divorced, still attending meetings, some of the younger married sisters got friendly with me. We went out (to bars) after the meeting, we hung out, etc. Then one “ friend” asked me for a favor. She had a photography job to do on a Friday night, and it would leave her husband home alone. She asked if I could take her husband out with me with my work friends, to a disco, show him a good time, etc. I did. He got pretty trashed, but I drove and got him home safely. The next day, she asked me if I had sex with her husband. I DIDNT and told her so. She seemed disappointed somehow, I didn’t know why. It later came out SHE was having an affair with a single brother at the hall. She actually wanted to THROW ME UNDER THE BUS, and get a ‘scriptural divorce’ all the while SHE was having the affair. I was blameless that time. Some friend, huh?

Zalkin Law Firm flooded with calls from ex-JWs
by Roger Kirkpatrick inyesterday, i posted a question for a friend in texas as to whom he should contact to report sexual abuse from the 1960s by a jw pioneer/elder who is now deceased.
(incidentally, there are plenty of people who are still alive and in the organization who were very aware of the circumstances and who can be summoned to give testimony regarding these accusations.
) so, my friend called the zalkin law firm.

Saw a post on reddit...
by Biahi inmany exjw’s don’t remember their birthdays or birthdates, some actually guess and are off by a year or two.
i’m always proud to say my age, and i’m a woman, here’s why.
i thought i would be dead in 1975. i turned 16 in 1975, and i thought god would kill me because he knew i hated being a jw, even though i hated it, i thought it was ‘da troof’.

LHG, you speak often of envelope passing, I don’t remember this going on in my Midwest USA Congregation. I did have a cousin who was a full time pioneer and she told me she would leave her car door ( a beater) unlocked while at the meeting. After the meeting, cash of various denominations would be on her car seat. This was surprising to me.
