  “it was like a house of cards that has collapsed,” says a former cult elder.. for 40 years of his life, antónio madaleno, born in portugal, was part of jehovah’s witnesses, which he defines as a “cult”.

  he was just one year old when his mother went to the kingdom hall, as the jehovah’s witnesses’ places of worship are called.. after reaching the top of the jehovah’s witness hierarchy, becoming an elder, madaleno found himself in a situation where he began to address their heresies while his wife was pregnant in 2003.. “as is usual in these cases, the first concern of a jehovah’s witness is the question of the need for a blood transfusion,” he tells gospel prime, in an exclusive interview.. antónio madaleno says that this led him to research, study the bible and question the teachings of jehovah’s witnesses.

  for the first time, he was using his mind and conscience to seek the truth about what he had learned at the kingdom hall, even though he considered himself an expert in the witnesses’ doctrines.. his research has led him to what he defines as “a house of cards that has collapsed”, as he claims that “it has resulted in many other researches and inquiries”.. “what i came to discover led me to lose all credibility and trust of the watchtower organization,” he says.. the former elder became what they define as an “apostate”, drifting away from associating with members of the cult and starting to speak out against what happens there, including crimes covered up by the leadership.

  Good for you, Brock Talon, for sticking up for your wife. My parents stuck up for me, too. Those damn elders complained I “looked too old for my age”. Then my dad brought up one of the brothers with prematurely grey hair. He also “looked too old for his age”. They eventually were forced to back off. Most of these elders are dead, or in their late 80’s now. Asshats.

  What is the youngest a child has been baptised as a JW?

  the youngest reference i have come across is in the 1992 watchtower (march 1st page 27) - “in the summer of 1946, i was baptized at the international convention in cleveland, ohio.

  although i was only six years of age…”.

  i would like to find more examples of this, particularly of examples in more recent times.

  I didn’t want to get baptized, but my dad said I wouldn’t be allowed to date until I was, so at one month past my 14th birthday I got baptized, then my dad said I couldn’t date till I was 16. I told him then I would have waited til 16, so I was tricked and coerced in a way. After I came out of the water, I remember thinking “Oh my god, what have I done?”

  I dressed very nicely, very well groomed, and the elders had a problem with me. They couldn’t specify WHAT was wrong with me, but something was. Ha ! I just gave them a woody and they didn’t know what to do. Asshats, all of them.

  What JW Subjects Interest You The Most On This Site? What Doesn’t??

  i like subjects that delve into the history of the religion and proofs that the witnesses are not the true religion.

  i’m not so much into apologists saying we need to go to meetings, especially if the poster looks like a scammer trying to get ex jws going.
