DPA Blood ASAP
by manicmama ini am in need of the current copy of the newest dpa blood card as some of the jw's in my mothers congregation are asking about if she signed the latest copy after she passed today.
i am curious as to why they are asking about this specifically and not offering condolences on the loss of my mother.
there has been some shady interactions leading to my mother requesting me to talk to certain elders to request that certain people not interact with her further.

I Feel Bad For The Police
by minimus ini think cops are getting a bum rap.
are there some cops who shouldn’t be cops?
are some over eager?

True, but many parents don’t care if the kids do well, or finish their homework, etc. it starts with parents.

Simon, I blame parents more than teachers. Shitty parents who set bad examples teach these kids the wrong way to live, expecting handouts and govt giveaways.

Covid Virus and serving where the need is greater
by eyeslice ini get the impression that many of those serving where 'the need is greater' have had to return to their home countries due to the current covid pandemic.. just over a year back the society was pushing people to go to places like india; not the easiest places to get to grips with at the best of times.
now i see that the covid pandemic is pretty much out of control in india.
it seems to me that 'needs greaters' were the watchtowers way of getting missionaries on the cheap.

I think most of these “need greater” are younger folks looking for adventure. On another thread, I recall this topic talking about people going to mostly nice places, like Hawaii or Caribbean islands, never some godforsaken hellhole.

The choice of being alone has never been clearer.
by pistolpete insomething i've noticed is that marriage was the thing for those born before 2010. but today's culture of divorce laws slanted to favor women has forced men to think carefully before signing the marriage certificate.
most of my friends have no intentions of getting married.
all of them have gotten vasectomies, so there is no chance of being blamed for a pregnancy.

Clap for the Carers (or Don't it's Forbidden)
by Slidin Fast inso, in the uk, during the early stages of covid there was a groundswell of appreciation for the nhs for their front-line sacrifice.
this was crystallised into a regular clapping/whistling/noise making session every thursday at 8pm.. "harmless" you would have thought, "a gesture of appreciation", "what could possibly be wrong with joining in on that innocent activity?".
well, the co during his recent rounds had a different view.

Someone still in, but PIMO, should ask the CO if Jehovah will kill me at Armageddon if I clap.

The Difference Between Doctors & Nurses and Police?
by Simon inwhat is the difference between doctors & nurses, and police?.
studies have estimated that medical errors cause 250,000 deaths per year in the us.. police only kill around a thousand people each year in total, with only a small number being unjustified or accidental.. so the difference?.
police are expected to be perfect and for all the hype, you're are far greater risk of being killed by someone in the health industry than by a cop.

Why Do People Loot and Destroy When Someone Gets Shot?

This is not racism, but when the police stop you, cooperate, if they tell you to get on the ground, do it. If George Floyd had cooperated, he would be alive today, same with that 13 year old in Chicago. On the other hand, that army officer who got pepper sprayed, cooperated, and got sprayed anyway. I think that cop was racist. At least the officer lived. If he reads this, thank you for your service. 😀
