  Door to door again?

  do you think the jdubs will start up the door whacking again one day?.

  there has to be many inside the org that are dreading having to do that again and as for the general public seeing this, it’s hard to imagine.

  Overrated, I gave a co worker a ‘No visits by Jehovah’s Witnesses, please’ sign for her front door. A few months later, she showed me a note that was left by some witnesses. It read, and I quote “You people are going to DIE REAL SOON if you don’t change your ways.” This was in the 1980’s. My co worker passed away of a heart attack, but not Armageddon.

  Gordy, how dare you look happy, and smile at them. It doesn’t fit their narrative, where all who stop associating with ‘Gods true people’ are all miserable, depressed alcoholics, or drug addicts, or in jail.

  Should young children peddle Watchtower Society literature?

  one thing i always disliked about the watchtower society is how they use young children tp peddle their literature.

  my mom insisted that my brother (12 years old) and i (9 years old) go out in field service every saturday morning.

  didn't matter if it was 90 degrees or 20 degrees, we were out peddling watchtower magazines.

  I was 6 years old, my parents took me out in field service, made me offer magazines at the door, then filled out a report for me. Hours, placements, etc. 🤮 When that report was dropped into the box, the elders (brothers) wanted to ‘talk’ to me. I was so scared. My dad then told them I was scared, and just to add me as a publisher. I was only 6! And later, my mom told me that now I was a publisher, I had to report time every month, so I wouldn’t be considered ‘inactive.’ That sucked, I didn’t even have a choice. Same with the ministry school. I refused to join, but then I wanted my ears pierced. My dad told me he would allow me to get my ears pierced only if I joined the ministry school. Being a JW kid sucked. 💩

  absolute worst case scenario, the last of the generation that saw the events of 1914 would have died off would be in the mid to late 1990's!

  so we were told in the 1980's!

  so now we 3/4 of another generation past that!.

  but they are written in such a way its harder to compare.

  so on the jw website, there is a tab called 'about us'.

  I have an old cassette tape of a talk he gave to a group of ex JWs. I remember one part where ( at an assembly) babies were being left to sleep in the hot sun, and one or more infants passed away. Someone went to the person in charge to have an announcement made to mothers not to leave their babies to sleep in the hot sun. They refused, said they couldn’t waste “valuable microphone time” on unimportant announcements. What a loving organization.

  I wasn’t going to add to this, until I got 2 foot massagers. Sigh. Oh well, I guess people know what I need, but I have great husband who rubs my feet. I rub his, too.
