After watching A&E Leah Remini on Jehovah Witnesses I am going to stop hiding behind my Avatar
by Still Totally ADD injust got done watching this program and what impress me the most was the bravery of those x-witnesses to sit there on national tv and tell everyone how the wt.

Mentally diseased ANOINTED!
by Normalfulla inmy aunt is a super uber jw, albeit a little more delusional than the standard issue jw.
she has 4 kids all who are out and never baptised, she's a widow now and sold the family home and has bought a new place and has plenty of cash in the bank.
my cousins are all very concerned because their mum has a new friend whos "anointed" and says jehovah has spoken to her and she will survive armageddon and so will her kids if she sticks close.. she has been paying out for holidays and vehicle repairs for this anointed sister and her extended family and my cousins are alarmed at whats going on and can see the situation for what it is.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Remembrance Day
by barry intoday i met with my friends and attended remembrance day with the ahmadiyya muslims.
the ahmadiyya are not terrorists, they don't believe in killing those that leave their religion, they fly the australian flag and respecter laws.. there was seven of us in total including 1 atheist , three anglicans one a priest , one minister from my former church adventist, and of course two wives that had to sit up the back [just joking].. the ahmadiyya are persecuted in pakistan because they are not considered proper muslims many come to the west as refugees and i believe this is one group we can trust and live with as neighbours.
does anyone have an opinion or contact with this group please share..

Door-to-door preaching as surveillance
by john.prestor ini wanted to share some thoughts about jehovah's witnesses and their door-to-door preaching.
door-to-door preaching is supposedly about gathering converts, but in fact, as we frequently discuss, doesn't actually bring that many "sheep-like ones" in.
i want to suggest that a second meaning (what we call the latent meaning in academia) is facilitating surveillance of the congregants who attend some congregation.

When you were still a JW, or if you still are what was one of those wild or crazy thoughts that went though your mind
by Tameria2001 inbefore i left the organization, i remember having this thought go through my mind, it was not something that i dwelled on too much.
i was thinking of an interesting way i could get away with something, especially with my anal jw relatives, my brother-in-law was the worst.
i didn't have this idea pop in my head until after i had moved into a duplex, and then it went off like a light bulb.

I had a fantasy that I was adopted, and when my "real" parents found out that I was getting no Christmas, birthdays or other holidays and all the other weird shit that goes with being a JW child, my "real" parents would come and take me back, they would apologize to me and say they gave me up because they were just too young.

Lucky Pommies - New exhibition at the British Museum - "I am Ashurbanipal: King of the World
by fulltimestudent inin case your puzzled, pommie is an old australian slang word for an english person.
but that aside, the major point is this exciting exhibition at the british museum.. here's their description of it.. step into the world of ashurbanipal – one of history’s greatest forgotten kings – in our major new exhibition.
ashurbanipal has been given other names (in case you asked).

I want to go to the British Museum. It's on my bucket list. Fall 2019 I'll be going on a Mediterranean cruise.
