How have Jehovah`s Witnesses ever gotten away with being a Tax Exempt Religion ?

don`t the powers that be ever really investigate religions that claim exemption from paying taxes because they claim they are a not for profit religion ?.
you would have to be a brain dead imbecile not to see that the religion known as the" watchtower bible and tract society" otherwise known as "jehovah`s witnesses" are nothing more than a religious publishing house that have made x amount of $$$$$ over the years since their inception in the late 1800`s to this day.

Also, the Catholic Church does provide REAL charity to people, and they don’t require those they help to be a member. I know someone, a lazy scammer, who has the local CC to pay her electric bill every month, and she is not Catholic.

i’m curious of how it’s changed with only letter writing and phone witnessing approved.. i’m curious if they are able to do it for 3 hours like a typical door to door morning.
i would be surprised.

Reel to reel tapes and old Watchtower literature

i have saved many things, some you have never seen.
particularly related to 1975, i have wts literature, even a big newspaper article about the 1975 prediction.. today, i started going through the reel to reel tapes.

My grandpa got ripped off years ago, by a “visitor.” A couple came to the meeting on Sunday, identified themselves as witnesses from out of town. Their car was broken down, and my grandpa “loaned” them $200. They took his address so they could pay him back when they got home. Never heard from them again.

Dutch judge rules that elders are not entitled to hide behind clergy-penitent privilege
by Anders Andersen intoday a dutch judge ruled that jw elders and the jw branch cannot invoke clergy-penitent privilege when it comes to information used in a judicial committee.. jw had filed a complaint with the courts because the branch office, two kingdom halls and a few elders' homes were raided by police almost 2 years ago in search of evidence related to child abuse issues.. jw argued that the information that was taken by police is protected by clergy-penitent privilege.
today the judge ruled that 1) an organization doesn't haven't such a privilege, 2) jw elders don't always act as spiritual counselors.
their actions as judges in judicial committees aren't protected by privilege, and 3) conversations jw have with their elders are often not confidential at all (as per jw policy) so jw elders can't rightfully invoke clergy-penitent privilege to maintain absolute confidentiality, because there isn't absolute confidentiality in the first place.. jw are thinking about appealing the verdict..
