  Yes, Punky, my mom was like that. She looked to WT publications for explanations for how to live, what it’s okay to do or not do, etc. The GB had the final word. 🙁

  i am getting requests to confirm we are ok from several continents.

  we live about 5-10 minutes from the guadalupe river in texas.

  i didn’t realize this made global news.. i utilize a lot of weather subscription apps to help me in my business.

  What Did You Do For Fun That You Felt The WT Frowned Upon?

  in the light of the lifting of sanctions on glass clinking and recent threads on chess and dvds of lord of the rings, was there anything you did for fun, as a hobby or for recreational purposes that you felt might be "taken the wrong way" if it came to the attention of the elders or sister busybody?.

  When I was a kid, I usually sat with my parents, a few rows from the back. One night, I decided to sit in the second row. 🤷‍♀️ The brother on stage read that scripture about the light burden and kind.y yoke. He then stated, “See, the load is light!”. I turned around from my vantage point in front, I saw a sea of faces, expressing how they felt about his statement. What an eye opener!

  When I was a child, my grandma had a wooden plaque in her kitchen. It was Jesus words which said, Ye Shall Know the Truth, and the Truth Will Set Ye Free. Simple statement like that used to make me ponder if I was set “free” by knowing the “truth”, which the JWs call their religion. I wondered (to myself) if I was supposed to be set “free” by knowing the “truth”, then why did it feel more like jail?

  Evidently, lol, I was on my way to leaving, even as a kid.

  Complex PTSD and Ex JW's

  i have been diagnosed with complex ptsd by my therapist due to events of abandonment and abuse as a child.

  the cult experience of being raised as one of jehovah's witness was a major factor.

  i think that the sparlock video and the conti case has brought emotional flashbacks to some of us here, so i wanted to post information that i have found helpful.

  Thank you, Seabreeze, for bringing up this topic. I recognize myself in many of these symptoms. Ouch! 🤨 Thankfully, we are out and can heal. Watchtower has so much to answer for. This is why I say they owe me 5 million dollars.

  i have lots of friends who had a new born this year, and they are excited as hell that they have an opportunity to give their children something they themselves didn’t get because their parents were hard-core jehovah's witnesses who refuse to support them in getting a better education to live a better life.. not only will they not raise their children as jehovah's witness, but they now have the opportunity to give their children a better life.

  all my friends are still young, under 24, so they still have time, .

  the "one big beautiful bill" includes a provision for "trump accounts," which will provide a one-time government contribution of $1,000 for every child born between january 1, 2025, and december 31, 2028. parents can also contribute up to $5,000 per year to these accounts.
