New here
by Change Name ini had been studying with the jehovah's witnesses for the last couple years.
they have been interesting study sessions and have learned quite a bit about them and their beliefs.
much of what they teach is what i had learned through personal bible study.. growing up was normal.

If you scroll to the top of the page and click the last page button, right now it's 5, it makes the number of views go up one each time you click.

It's like going to the zoo where all the signs say "DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS" but we still do it anyway.
P.S. When you posted you threw the monkey a peanut too.

Old time JW's did some very devout JW's refuse to eat pizza with pepperroni because they believed "blood" was in the pepperroni?
by booker-t ini have never heard this before until i read a life story of an ex-jws and how some jws in the past refused to eat pepperoni pizza because they thought blood was in pepperoni.
i do know some elderly jw sisters would complain about eating steak if it bled while cooking.
has anybody else heard of this pizza nonsense?.

Theocratic War - Jehovah's Witnesses and Lies
by Christ Alone inhere is a speech given by fred franz in 1955 where he encourages those listeners that it is ok to lie to protect the organization.
it is left open ended so that anything that could be preceived as a threat towards the beliefs and concepts of the organization can be lied about.

This one bothered me. I understand Rahab misleading the soldiers to save the spies, but how far can that stretched? I experienced first hand with elders and co's that as long as it was felt that the one being "lied" to didn't have a "right" to know, it was ok. Common procedure if felt necessary.

I never heard of the roni thing, but I knew some that wouldn't eat jello because they heard it was made with a blood product.

How to handle it when a JW gives you "counsel" about some stupid crap
by Terry inthere is a catch-22 that can trip you up at the local kingdom hall.. .
if you receive "counsel" from an elder about any behavior at all and you "resist" or question the counsel you can be accused of having a "spirit of rebellion".. .
so, you have to either shut up and comply (with even the most ludicrous and ill-founded suggestions) or answer back and be chastised and "marked".. .

I had one CO call me up because he was upset that no one would take him out or have them over.
He called our cong "stingy" and complained that he and his wife were stuck over at the CO apt eating "stinky" hamburgers.
