"my research has led me to believe that there are far more than that, how about 500 billion?"
And what are the sources of your research? You will find that is WAY higher than what researchers within the demography circles state.
according to some, the earth may have 10 billion people living on it by the end of this century.
there is genuine concern about space and resources.. imagine, then, 100 billion people being resurrected to live on earth.
some jws will argue that not everyone will be resurrected to earth, including 144,000. imagine 50 billion then, assuming that half of the people who ever lived did something so horrific that they aren't deemed worthy to be resurrected.. jws who are lurking and reading this: where are they going to live?

despite my often smart-ass exterior, i really don't have any desire to see the r&f dubs suffering.
i really do worry about the mental and emotional turmoil that they will experience, if and when the wtbts is truly exposed as a scam.
i know it seems unlikely to happen, but you never know..... anyway, the wt for the week was cringe-worthy to say the least.
It was mentioned as an example of how to illustrate this to a child, or how a child itself could illustrate it.
"The child could use a ball or a stone to illustrate the point by showing that objects with mass have to rest on something."
So the context shows what this was, an illustration for children as JustMe2 also states.
the february 2017 wt had stated that the gb is "neither inspired nor infallible" and that it can make errors in doctrine.. the language of the online wt issue now says, “the governing body is neither inspired nor perfect.
therefore, it can make mistakes when explaining the bible or directing the organization.”.
why the change?
pdf says infallible - no change
i know most of us have probably figured this out already, but remember the good old days where you could only count full hours in the ministry?.
then one of the gb get some "new light" from their ass and proclaim that they lovingly will allow people to report 30mins, then even 15mins of time.
this was, supposedly, so that the old and infirm could have a joy in the ministry and report what little they could do.
you're now able to count family worship - No, you are not
studying with an inactive one - That has been the case for decades, after you are asked to do so
studying with your children - That has also been the case for decades
etc etc - What is "etc. etc."? - are you suggesting dogs?
hey everyone.
i'm a university student very interested in the history of the jehova's witnesses, from the university of fribourg, switzerland.
i would like to do an analysis of pictures of africa in the watchtower for a small research project.
Then why do you ask your question here? If you want access to the older WTs, ask the Central European Branch Office at Selters, Germany.
apart from the interesting block color change for the title strip on the front page.... the new 2017 wt mag has some new (updated printing figures):.
2016: produced each issue: 58,987,000 available in 282 languages .
2017: produced each issue: 61,651,000 available in 294 languages.
to included electronic downloads rather than just physical copies
NO

You are mixing up two different things. The number of magazines produced has nothing to do with the number of magazines delivered/placed. One downloaded magazine has no bearing on the number produced. If you want the number of delivered/placed magazines, turn to the Yearbook or similar publication.
tl;dr: if you live either in scotland or in other parts of uk and you don't mind traveling, you might be able to help a fellow ex-jw by being present during a courtcase where she alone has to face more than two dozens of jws who have ruined their business.
please contact me directly for details on when and where the court case will be held (i will know these details in few days probably).
ps.
Yeah, sure, no. 1:
"One day she decided to invite few JWs over to her place for dinner. The Scottish brothers asked her to play some Polish kingdom songs, so she opened YouTube and searched. But instead of kingdom songs, a film about a judicial committee in Berlin popped out. They all watched it,"
Yeah, sure, no. 2:
"imagine the surprise of the court when on that day the courtroom was empty - none of the 24 JWs who were ordered to come showed up. They only sent a letter to the court that they will not show up because... their Christian conscience forbids them to show up!"
Yeah, sure, no. 3:
"Just outside the door she sees a local elder and his wife, both her ex-employees. The elder shouts to her - "how you dare to speak against the organization!", and his wife approached and... spit the sister in the face."
And as others have remarked – how utterly strange that there has been no press coverage. There seems to be no limit for what fabricated stories one can come up with.
1st corinthians 15 12-17. but if it is preached that christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even christ has been raised.
and if christ has not been raised, your faith is futile... .
Well said, slimboyfat. Could (almost) not have formulated it better myself
TOH
indoctrinated into all things watchtower, i once believed the bible was true history, that evolution was false and evil, and that the bible could be trusted to be reliable when it touched on science issues.
then i got introduced to the official catholic bible translation of u.s. catholics, the new american bible revised edition (or nabre--not to be confused with the protestant nasv or new american standard version) and things changed.
i was shocked to learn that the nabre teaches.... the creation and flood stories of genesis are jewish adaptations of mesopotamian heathen creation-flood mythology, not history.
The Catholics can have a relaxed attitude to the Scriptures, and can make excellent Bible translations like the Jerusalem Bible, because they don't have to find support for their teachings in Scripture - they've got Tradition. Scripture and Tradition are the two foundations, and what they don't find in Scripture, they get from Tradition. Therefore, they don't have to twist what the Bible says. The Protestants on the other hand, with their "The Scripture only" approach, HAVE to find support for their teachings in the Bible, and so you get the twisting and desperate search for words and verses that can be used as a feeble support for Trinity teaching etc.
