Peer Pressure - the WTS Greatest Weapon
by hillary_step inin my early years of questioning wts theology and methodology in the late 70s', i was entirely on my own.
i knew that something was seriously wrong with their doctrines, but there was no internet, no discussion groups, and in my particular area of the uk, no listening ear.
in fact everybody seemed so pleasantly in love with the truth and so drawn along by collective enthusiasm that i seriously began to question my own attitudes.. sometimes i would wonder if i had gone quite mad, lost god's spirit, or had accomplished some dark deed in my past, that unknown to me was stripping me of my faith.

HS,
I would also like to see this 'writing' manual. Can you recall the name of the manual, so that I can go out and look for it?

SaintSatan,
Good point. I remember before being a JW I thought Gregorian chants were so calming and beautiful and now, I must admit, they do sound creepy to me... Darn Watchtower! and yes I know watchtower meetings are also mind altering... I've been reading up on this...
JT,
Right On!

hillary,
Thank you so much for that. That is a very scary quote from Enron's former IT VP. Interesting how, because of your experience, you have an insight to things that others in the world may be totally clueless about.
I guess we can say that because our lives included the JW path and most importantly the EXJW path, we now have a very special kind of insight than few people in the world do. As another person on an EXJW website said "It's a gift"... and I guess it certainly can be, and other times maybe not so much. But I'm grateful to hold such an insight.
The idea you mentioned about calling the advertising bureau is very interesting... I've been trying to help my husband to see the JW fallicies but to no avail... maybe this could help... Could you give me more details? Which book is that you are refering to?

JWS Prosselizing on Paltalk
by cornish ini have visited the jw and friends room a few times on paltalk, but usually i either get red dotted or booted for raising points they dont want raised, anyway yesterday i go in there under a different user name playing mr gun ho loyal witness, talking about how we should be loyal to the governing body, and dont want to get misled by the twisted lies of apostates and how we need to warn the world urgently to get into jehovahs organization or they will die at armaggedon, you know that sort of trash, very soon i get private text messages from jws that i should not talk like that as there were interested ones in the room i could stumble, who were not ready for such frank talk, anyway they hated this frank approach which showed them up to be a load of pawns in front of interested ones got suspicious and asked me to read todays day text, but of course i have no year book, hey is that proof of being a genuine jw nowdays knowing todays text!.
the point i am raising is this, the internet must be a wonderful tool for those who want to get their report brownie points up,i mean they can sit by the pc and mic and notch up hours and hours, even pioneer without going out of the house in the wind rain or snow.. is this the begining of cyber pioneer?

I know a few who do this exact thing. I think one of them is a pioneer or at least was. Let me know if you would like to anti-witness to any of these and I will let you know how you can come in contact with them on the net. Email me.

Get Out More / Questionaire.
by Englishman inis it true that americans are the least travelled people in the world?
if that is the case, its hardly surprising when you read all the dire warnings contained inside a us passport.
also, i am told that americans regard the rest of the world as a very dangerous place to be.

"With respect to his "will". He has taken off the "rose coloured" glasses. The wild part is him telling me that the Hospital Liaison Members will allow Witnesses in Calgary to have one whole blood transfusion but no more - What a stupid double standard."
Woah! Thanks for the update hawkaw! I too would like to email him my support, please email me by clicking on the email icon here under my name. Thanks.
