  ISP and Co. off to Florida!

  we're off to disney for the first time with the family.we were going somewhere else but changed.

  if there are any in the florida area that would like to meet up...let us know!

  we are there from the 31st may for 9 nights, staying at disney's yacht and beach resort.

  We must defeat shunning

  shunning is really what the watchtower society is all about.. every religion has moral codes, doctrines, taboos, etc.. it is the deliberate psychological manipulation of people through social sanction that makes jehovah's witnesses different than any other religion.. yes, other religious people shun people but only witnesses institutionalize shunning.. it must be defeated.. joel

  Circuit Assembly Bklyn NY -Saturday 4/6/02

  my sister went to the circuit assembly this past weekend here in bklyn ny.. they had a young sister on the platform helping to promote pioneering.the interesting point about this is that this young sister is attending college full time and actually said this in front of the audience.she brought out that she is going to college full-time and that since she "has only one more year left, she will wait to pioneer when she is in her last year of college because maybe then it probably won't be so hard.

  " these were her exact words.. i find this to be very interesting.

  those of us who have done parts or experiences or talks for circuit assemblies know that each talk and each part is scrutinized in practice sessions prior to the assembly in front of the circuit overseers.

  Thanks for sharing. I only wish I had this on video tape or cassette tape so that I could mail it to the elder that told me my husband was sinning for going to the University. I'd love to shove this in his face.

  I'm against that wall too and fear the stress of working and going back to college. I'm not lazy but I just don't need the stress in my life right now and at the same time I so desperately would like to get a bachelors degree. God if I had only opened my eyes sooner.

  ok.. i've been officially out for almost a year now.. no contact with former "friends" & "family".. (just my mom checks up on me now and then,.

  What I Have Learned

  this is my first post here, so i guess i should introduce myself j i'm a 19-year-old college student in baltimore, maryland.

  i was involved with jws on and off for about 4 years and, after being baptized for a little over a year, i stopped attending meetings.

  although my time as a jw was very brief (compared to the decades many people have spent in the organization) it is amazing how much my experience as a jw has affected my life.

  I found that passion (at least mine) cannot survive in a religion where there is no freedom to explore. Now I am strong and I know to never let anyone control my heart/mind again.

  Boy can I relate to that statement! Welcome Sunflower. I read your DA post before reading this.

  Oprah and My Mother

  my mother just called...as she does 2-4 times a week to tell me that "you must watch oprah!

  " my mother is in chicago, where oprah is broadcast live.

  i live in est where oprah is on in the afternoon.
