  ok.......... the house across the street stayed empty a long time.

  finally it was bought and soon rented out to what appeared at first, a group of college kids.

  It's Salem all over again. It worked for the WTB&TS back in the, what mid 70's, early 80's? It's an MO that works for them.

  S/Would any one of you/us expect the WTB&TS to act differently? It's a deeply ingrained habit for them.

  Silliest thing that Witnesses told you was wrong?

  there are two things.

  in the early and mid 80s there were witnesses saying that the cartoon characters the smurfs were not acceptable for witnesses.

  i had two smurf cartoon books and my mother made me throw them away.

  The thing about 1975 that I posted wasn't exactly an apostacy but the excuse was, "look out you could be bordering on apostacy.

  It seemed nearly so anyway. And if you preached it from the roof tops that 1975 wasn't going to bring the end. Then you would have demonstrated your total opposition to the borg in this regard and I imagine in THAT case you could have been DF'ed for apostacy.

  That is, they would have DF'ed you for absolutely nothing at all really.

  on Smurfs again, my little Story... which also ties in John Denver, of which I went to 4 of his concerts and he NEVER did that thing about making JDUBS stand up and where he begins to sing the National Anthem and then says, "Now get out!!!"

  I brought up John Denver and they jumped on the Gossip about John Denver hates JDubs.

  Ahem...

  There was a woman walking down the street when two hardened Smurfs jumped out dragged her into the alley and had their way with her.

  A couple of weeks later another woman was walking by the same alley and the Smurfs jumped out and grabbed her and dragged back into the same alley.

  Well she fought with them and said, "I can't let you do that to me under any circumstances I will fight to the death if I have to. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and will not allow you to have your way with me." She then proceeded to give them a more thorough witness.
  Well they were impressed by her witness so much they let her go.

  By now the brothers were literally at the edge of thier seats salivating over the Smurf story (I believe this was about the time of the height of Smurf stories).

  And you know because of that witness both of those Smurfs are in the truth today. Just to teach them for listening to gossip.

  Thinking too much.

  "You're too smart. It's going to get you into trouble."

  That to think that 1975 wasn't going to bring the end was apostasy.

  Going to College is wrong.

  That masturbation clogs up your arteries or something; ultimately affecting your health. See a ?1959? WT Question to readers. I did find the 1959 reference from a WT in the ?1970s?

  Simon holds the keys to this kingdom and does right by us when he lets us know if someone is toying with us.

  I hear/heard the same from the WTB&TS too. So he's protecting us from any other viewpoints or dangers of opinions by others who don't think alike? That's a form of mind control. Maybe I'm missing a deeper problem that I am not aware of.

  What if some of the DNS info Simon collected pointed out that the posters were internal WT people, using WT computers, or from the Catholic dioscese, or any other religious affiliation that didn't like frank talk about touchy subjects?

  the purpose of that information is for his statistics regarding how his server is facing up to the demand etc. Not to be used to turn around and expose someone or turn them into their employer, just because he doesn't like them. It's the ethics of it.

  As I recall Simon said he would censure anyone who used names, he didn't care who the person was that was "outed" in this way, or the person who does the "outing."

  If it's a matter of fraud then it should be reported to the authorities. The authority in this case is not the employer, but the law. a leagal system. That process would then take over.

  again I must protest.

  Simon, what business is it of yours to turn someone into their employer? Doesn't this come as part of the package and the nature of the internet? You just make your product better and weed these things/people out; maybe me eventually. A challenge I imagine, but it would make your product more marketable.

  In another thread you and others basically said: "Yeah, but this is different."

  I mean there's no illegal activity right? The person is just being a pain in the butt right? I can see if you turn to authorities from some sort of illegal or threatening individuals/situations.

  Who ever these people are I'm sure I would hate them because I hate almost everybody anyway. I'm getting into my "middle-age" and have a lot of resentment for a wasted life and that comes across to just about everybody.

  But it IS the business of the employer to take action if they want to against their employees.

  Your not some kind of internet policeman or are you?

  Besides these people (myself included, sometimes) look like they provide entertainment for many. Like a cat with a mouse.
